    Electricfix Catalogue

Got mine on Sat, thought it was asomeone doing a screwfix rip off at first, but it is actually associated with screwfix. Had a quick scan through and it looks ok. Prices seem to be approx 10% less than the standard screwfix catalogue. Got to be worth a go....

    NIC or Elecsa (or other)??

I'm with the NIC DI scheme, to date their admin has been awful. Had 6 sets of certs 'lost in the post' thats both the customer copies and the BCO copies, one cert maybe but 6 sets......... :x but soon as I call to complain they arrive within a couple of days. Which is a pain when the...

    Fluke Testers

Megger for me too, tried a Fluke 1651 for a while but the leads were awful. Ended up buying a Megger 1502/02 less than 6mths old off eBay for under £300, great piece of kit............only downside with the 1502 is the lack of auto RCD, so its worth paying a bit more and getting a 1552.

I've got a bit of a disagreement :) on my hands......... I've been asked to help out on a new build project (4 bed detatched), the spark running the job has detailed that the CU will be mounted 6" below the ceiling height in the internal garage....... I thought that CU's in new builds are...

    Cooker circuit without RCD question

Did exactly that with one of my jobs that the NIC looked at on Friday, initally he queried it, but as it was labeled 'not for use for outdoor equipment' (Dymo label not hand written) and all the other sockets in the kitchen were on an RCD he passed it (16th ed install by the way)

Square box cutter 77mm for sinking boxes

I've used mine many times, its OK in the soft stuff and produces lovely square holes in breeze or clinker blocks, but it can struggle when you get into decent bricks, and forget it in engineering bricks !! I have had a couple of occasions where a brick has broken in on itself and left far...

Square box cutter 77mm for sinking boxes

Mine also has the 'gap' IIRC they say that it floats on the shaft as a safety feature.....i.e if you forget to select roto-stop it won't rip out of your hands

    Sports Centre PIR Pics

Yep all 6 fcus were on individual radials on 20A type C breakers, with the loads connected straight into the supply terminals. centre manager said it couldn't be a problem because they've never had problems with them. The shower switch was feeding a bank of 6 pumps and pir sensors in the...
