Client threatening legal action - electrical work

Careful :D You don't want to be verging into being abusive :D But this is an easy thing to resolve. Do you ever expect to install this type of system again? If yes then the experience will be good and could be a selling point in the ever modernising world of technology. Boots once did a...

Client threatening legal action - electrical work

BS7671:2008 states that a certificate shall be prepared. The model form (1) used for the initial verification requires the work for which you are responsible for to be agreed with the client and the extent of that work be recorded. This covers your a behind incase of any variations in the...

    GUTTED

I wouldn't give a toss about it (them) dude. Let them have fun with their little forum toys :D The people that find this forum out are seeking advice. Who here provides advice? Those are the people that the visitors want to read from and are the forum's most valuable members.

    GUTTED

Agreed with the testing... Have you thought about adding another layer of finished flooring? Might work out cheaper than a full rip up and replace as long as door crossovers are considered might be an avenue to rule out?

    Virtual Courses

Ok. Now I see. Your post was valid, interesting and provided a good stand point (as you always do). If the posts were deleted by the daft vote system then that would be another matter but I can read them all in one click. I sense a bit of discrimination here and the mods should have a keen eye...

I'm a bit confused now by the rating system but as a trainer / assessor of almost 6 years (I'm 36 y/o) I feel I can't let this thread slip by. One of the biggest thing that I like to have is a decent PowerPoint and a nice classroom. Maslow eat your heart out! I am one who seeks immortality...

    armoured cable

Where do you get your superscript squaredz from? I want some. An add on to some replies above. What do you think will be the first question the DNO are going to ask you? What is the maximum demand? :D They can't quote you when they don't know what you want.

    armoured cable

Not for 200m no chance. The old meter tails used to supply 16mm squared but that was only for a couple of meters in length for 63A. We now get 25mm squared to cover the standard 100A but again for only a couple of metres of cable. For 200m a calculation will need to be made. If you add a...

    Photo of a burnt CU.

Well I would say no because they (tails) are stranded and will "spread" as you tighten. Tighten as hard as you can. Waggle and pull the cable where it enters the termination again and you might get another quarter turn. My opinion.

    armoured cable

To supply what? The goat's Sky TV box or what? :D :D :D Question 1 is: What is the maximum demand? i.e. How much power will you be demanding from the supply authority? And 200 metres of supply cable. I hope your partner figured in a couple of grand for the cable installation alone :O

    caravan electrics

Caravans get their own little special place in the Regulations so the person you get to inspect it must know what they are doing.

    Snow affecting 2391 this week?

I feel sorry for the lad but in a way I am glad he wasn't in the realms of passing his 2391 and then only to fail his 2382. He failed two sections of the 2382 and guess what part one of them was.. Part 6

    Snow affecting 2391 this week?

The lad who failed his 2382 last week fell at the first hurdle on the first part of his IR assessment on 2391 :( He paid for everything himself. Course, travel, accomodation, the lot. :O We've subsequently found out last week was his 4th attempt at the 2382 :O The other two today have passed...
