MIRA SHOWER WON'T HEAT UP... HELP!

More info on the model might help - they make tonnes!

    Digital showers, opinions wanted!

Used to sell tonnes of those digital aqualisa units 3-5 years ago. Easy to fit retrospectively with the mixing unit in the loft / airing cupboard. The non-pumped version is designed with combi systems in mind and I don't ever recall getting flow rate related complaints. However, I did get at...

CH system design advice please (no Gas or Oil option)

thanks to doitall, Tony and Simon for the info. I have also dreamt about a GSHP, which is probably possible given a big budget. My neighbours have old wells in their gardens which are still full of water so I presume the water table is quite high - which I'd assume would help? Still...

CH system design advice please (no Gas or Oil option)

Sorry guys, yes I did mean vented cylinder - like those plumbers referred to in the previous post, I also don't want to try a solid fuel / unvented cylinder combo. 2 questions: 1) If I put the tank in the loft (basically 5m directly above the ground floor stove) should I use 22mm...

CH system design advice please (no Gas or Oil option)

Thanks all for the comments - much appreciated. Initially I was keen on the ASHP but I agree that they offer best performance at the wrong times of the day / year for me. I'm esging towards a large tank with immersion heaters working overnight. At least I won't need to worry about...

    Toilet constantly running

Sorry, I wasnt' clear. If water isn't going into the cistern, its the inlet. If it is, but the cistern isn't filling then it's the discharge valve. And if it's filling - but the water won't stop running into the cistern, causing it to run into the overflow - then it's the inlet valve again.

My shower goes from hot to cold??

I'd run a hot tap elsewhere in the bathroom. If it doesn't suffer similar fluctuations then I doubt it's your boiler. More likely your thermo (blending) cartridge. I reckon the blending cartridge has had it. It'll be a plastic thing behind the temperature control knob. They normally...

    Need help with shower !

a photo would help. Normally they're directly behind the thermo control and either screw in or simply push in (snug fit).

Mixer shower either freezing or burning!

You've already got the two suggestions I'd give. Try them - you're not going to damage anything. Turning it upside down should definitely fix it.

    Toilet constantly running

If it doesn't fill up at all then your discharge valve (the flush) is not closing properly. You can tinker with the seals in the bottom of the cistern but I'd probably just replace the discharge valve with a similar one.

    Need help with shower !

If it's only affecting your shower then it's not your system, it's likely to be the thermostatic cartridge in your shower valve.

Anybody know what make of shower this is?

It's true, loads of companies do stuff like this (including Bathstore) but I reckon try Crosswater. I know they do a recessed valve option which looks like that. Presume one arm is a thermostat and the other turns clockwise for shower flow and anticlockwise for the bath filler? I think...

CH system design advice please (no Gas or Oil option)

Hi all, Brace yourselves for a borathon but I'm guessing devil is in the details with system design. I have an old stone cottage in Somerset, no gas in village, no room for an oil tank - 3 bed, 2 bathroom. Currently heated by storage heaters and an old, tiny woodburner (all downstairs)...
