As said, remove bus bar and cables and loosen off even more then tighten up, look down into the mcb and does it 'look correct' the way its gripping the cable. Obviously youve said its the suppliers end, but check your connections (all of them, first.) A photo might help, so people can...

    New Consumer Unit Installation

best solution imho..is fit the consumer unit closer to the origin of most of the cables.. crimps for the rest, if enclosed in the cu.. otherwise replace cable or Junction box etc.. not nice. David

    help needed with college project

post the question and what you suspect the answer is, and say why and then people will be able to help you with the questions. Cable size isnt hard to calculate if you have plans= measurement = length. Correction Factors can include many things, but I suspect you know which its asking for.

    Moving a meter?

it will be expensive... They will run a new cable to the street and then terminate this in your property with a new meter. They may then connect up your installation, depending on where your Consumer unit is.. An alternative, may be adding a meter box directly behind where they are located...

    connecting a shower consumer unit.

No, 9,500w @ 230v is 41A hence fitting the consumer unit, you need to use 16mm tails (min, 16mm are easier in the tiny CU's) And take these to a Henley Block (its like a large Junction box in the meter tails)
