More info please, is it a combi boiler, if so check the flow rates and temp rise of hot water, what do you mean by intermitant, i.e. when its hot does it stay hot or is it cycling between hot and cold.

This boiler has a pre-heat for the hot water, thats why it fires up by itself. It sounds like your diverter valve is playing up, it may need a new referb kit, or the motor may not be working. Also if its cutting out on hot water you may have a problem with the flow switch.

Is the diverter valve working check that the hot water demand light comes on, on the boiler.

So what causes the dry joint on the relay that drives the fan?

Why did you change the fan, was it turning on and off and still doing the same now? Is it a clicking noise coming from the pcb, if so could be a dry joint on PCB. After you have changed the PCB only the gas valve and a couple of sensors left to change, hopefully not worth changing the boiler...

Pump should over run when burner turns off, sounds like this might not be happening, but this wouldn't account for poor hot water.

Did this happen before all these parts were changed? Is the micro switch operating correctly, does the heating operate or does boiler overheat when water turned off? does this happen in water only setting???????

The Biasi is a good budget boiler, should be no problem getting parts. How old is the boiler? You could call Biasi and they could send an engineer if you think you are being ripped off, did your plumber have a good look at the boiler?

Is it turned on to the winter setting?

I am not familiar with this boiler. But have you checked the pressure in the expansion vessel, this could account for the movement in the pressure gauge. Are your radiators getting hot, could be that the boiler is overheating(reset button?) and cutting out thus accounting for the pressure rise...

Was the fan running, if not could be dry joint on pcb.

Why not get a manual for you boiler, could save you a lot of money.

Buy a good book on central heating. Try reading the boiler manual it might give you a clue to what you have done wrong. Warranty for boiler probably void now if not fitted to manufactures instructions.

Could be a blocked H.W. H.E. if it only happens on H.W.

Try a new boiler stat or test the old one when the boiler won't switch on.

Try the reset buttons I think there might be two on this boiler one is under the black cap on the front of the boiler.

What is the problem? If stat has reached temp are the pipes to the boiler still hot, are the rads cold, has your room stat reached temp, does the circulating pump work when the system is hot?

check the flow rates of the water from the hot taps, should be in the boiler manual around 9 to 12 litres per min, If different between up and downstairs then there must be some obstruction in the pipe going upstairs.

Have you cleaned out the cold water filter?

Could be the thermostat on the boiler, does it turn the boiler off when it is getting hot? are the radiators getting hot before it starts spluttering?
