    Another laptop has died.

    It's called a power jack. E.g. http://www.laptoppowerjacks.co.uk/

And then dismantle the case, take out old power jack and solder on the new one. ;)

Tell her repeatedly, "Computer says NO!" Oh, and possibly get your number changed.

Are you using the manufacturer approved power adapter? Should be a fairly simple fix for a local laptop repair company - probably needs a new power jack.

You guys are awesome - new boiler install

It's for testing of course, and cleaning the system out. Has Sentinel X400 in the system which will be drained and removed in a few days. Also it was getting nippy a week ago - 5 degrees C! As to the advice, thanks ALEC, unfortunately I have no North facing walls, the only wall that is any...

You guys are awesome - new boiler install

LeeC not from BHL are you? Now that would be funny. As to the controller at the moment have a bog standard wireless controller fitted, as not entirely sure about the responses from Atag. The house itself seems to be retaining heat remarkably well, much more so than I expected, but has only...

You guys are awesome - new boiler install

Really? Yes, really! Took a risk on a new boiler and bought the Atag A325 ECX - had the storage tank, cylinder and floor boiler from many years ago removed. Good job too as the flue had two holes in it (one massive gaping one) due to rust! Installer spent two days putting in the new...

    Atag A series controls

Hi guys In the process of getting an Atag A series boiler installed and have a few questions. 1. To use the weather compensation sensor alongside the boiler do you *require* the Wize controller or will any volt free room thermostat suffice? 2. Is it possible to control the boiler...

    Graphics Card/ Motherboard compatabilty

    Yes it is.

    Graphics card on way out.

Take off heatsink and fan, wipe clean, apply some thermal goo (get it from Maplins) and there you go. Otherwise.. if its PCI-E then you can get a decent alternative for around £20 e.g. Radeon HD 5450 or Nvidia G210.

    the price is right

Is it possible to explain that to the layman? Just got a boiler with a weather compensation sensor (not installed yet, boiler or the weather compensator.)

Haha, I am sure it wasn't you or anyone on these boards. Found his details on the Veissmann installer page... Hint, I am in the Midlands.

    the price is right

Had a few quotes recently myself and did not end up going for the absolute cheapest quote. Tried not to waste any ones time by asking a lot of questions on the phone first and then asking them what their ball park figure was. One lovely person on the phone gave me a quote of £5300 to £5400...

    Vaillant or Viessmann

The installer will be cleaning the system out and making sure it will be ready for the new boiler. Thanks for all the advice all, much appreciated.

    Vaillant or Viessmann

Ordered the Atag and spoke to their tech support regarding ongoing warranty. The installer doesn't seem comfortable with supporting the product on going but will install it. Atag advise the warranty is with the product so no issues as they will find me an Atag service engineer should the need...

    Vaillant or Viessmann

OK so Dan has convinced me, I want an ATAG A325EC but now the installer is not happy with this but will install it if I purchase the boiler. I think I am going to cry.
