    Will depend on wiring and circuit protection. I'll assume wired in 1.5 T&E with a 6 amp breaker at 230v - you'd have a total power requirement of 1560W so would be over your breakers limit. In this instance you would need to change to a 10A breaker - cabling would be fine. EDIT - Misread...

    Double check your connections are sound - did you use the plastic termination tool or does the socket have screw terminals?

    If it is solid yellow it will be for the timer - connected to the permenant live - green&yellow then it's an earth cable EDIT - worth adding that if it is connected to perm live then turning off the switch won't kill the power to the fan

    Is there a capacitor in the socket you have replaced - the master has one and slaves don't - this is pert of the ringing circuitry

    Why didn't you sell her an extension lead? ;) Sparky done the right thing - there would be some others who would do the work anyway and ignore Part-P - best to avoid them. EDIT - in fact surely this extra socket wouldn't be notifiable?

    Don't forget the flying lead to earth the metal switch and what about using round head screws to fix the backbox?:)
