    Wobbling Stand Alone Tap

just gonna add my thoughts. Did the plumber know any details of the job before arriving? Quite often I'm sent to "just fit a tap, won't take long" when actually it needs some planning. Did he go away and get materials? ie could he have got some extra wood while away or is there any on site...

    Sarigas boiler?

Nope, just one person dragging up old posts. Will be useful in the future for people doing searches or if the OP has trouble again I guess.

Apologies, I overlooked the primatic. Don't see too many.

Hot Water Cylinder, what do i have?

Just an immersion heating it would be direct, boiler flow and return's piped through it via a internal coil would be indirect with immersion back up. Are you planning on pumping the shower or keeping it gravity fed?

Ariston Eurocombi (haven't got a clue what I'm doing, Help!)

Behind the metal cover is the combustion chamber and should only be accessed by an RGI. In there a leak could be coming from an automatic air valve, o-ring on a pipe connection or the heat exchanger..........

Three Way Valve Issue ?? Am I being ripped off ??

Is the hot water cylinder and 3 way valve in the upstairs airing cupboard? If it is it should be visible that a 15mm(?) pipe is tee'd off between the dhw side of the valve and the cylinder. This will be the flow to the bathroom rad. If it were me I would drain down to below upstairs level, cut...

    Yet another problem argh!

Hi, did WB come back today and change the heat exchanger? Has it fixed it for you? Certainly hope so. What were their comments about it? Marc

    Yet another problem argh!

Sounds like a fault at the boiler. Maybe even the boiler itself. Someone needs to check that all the leads are fully pushed home on the board and components, especially if a few pairs of hands have been working in there. Seems to me now like a warranty visit from WB would fix it, even if it...

    Yet another problem argh!

Well put tamz. Think that sums it up without looking at it. Sorry to hear you're having problems Val. Sounds like further expense/hassle I'm afraid. A 40kW boiler will generate an immense amount of heat in a short time. System design is key. A large flow and return, healthy bypass, correct...

    Gas rating appliance

This is a simple test which is often overlooked but very important. The maximum kilowattage of a boiler can be checked and confirmed. Add a combustion check and you know it's using the right amount of gas safely. Over or under gassing an appliance is dangerous. good for fault finding too ie...

    megaflow- poor flow

Your cold main is effectively your hot water. The hot may have slightly better pressure due to the megaflo storing pressure/expansion. Increasing the cold main pressure should fix both. Is it different at the kitchen tap? Is the main stopcock fully open?? Could be that your bathrooms have...

    Yet another problem argh!

I have had a look at some info I've got and it says fault E9 gives that symbol - Temperature rising too quickly. Display might alternate between symbol and flow temp. First things to check are water pressure/levels. Bleed all air out etc. And the pump, make sure it's not seized. It could...

No heating problem! Oil-burning central heating boiler

I think they have identified the repeater lamp, control box reset button and overheat reset button. I mentioned in my first post that the reset button they need is found on the burner control box, I merely said about the lamp going on and off when pressing as an indicator. Hope this didn't...

    dielectric valves

the dielectric junctions go on the inlet and outlet of the heater to prevent an electrolytic reaction according to the MI's. From memory they are just straight plastic connections not valves. Like female threaded couplings. Are you sure you didn't get them?

No heating problem! Oil-burning central heating boiler

Hmmm, a reset button not resetting would have me reaching for a replacement. Maybe it has got stuck. Sorry I haven't managed to help. Anyone else any ideas or known this happen?

No heating problem! Oil-burning central heating boiler

is it a round or rectangular reset button? I'm not sure which burner/control box you have. The red lockout light on the facial panel should go out when you push the button in and come back on when you release it. To reset it there should be a click when the button is fully depressed. Right...

No heating problem! Oil-burning central heating boiler

I should add the external controls/programmer need to be calling for heat for the burner to have power.

No heating problem! Oil-burning central heating boiler

The red light indicates burner lockout. Your problem is purely at the burner. It has failed to light/re-light and so cut out for safety. The red reset button is on the control box fitted to the burner as you have found. What happens when you push it right in? Does it go out at all? What should...

    Back boiler question!

what, literally? The gaping hole in the flue is why not. You need to tackle this safely. Alternative fire fronts might be available for your back boiler. Also, Baxi are launching a condensing back boiler with electric fire front. Make sure that whilst redecorating you don't cover up any...

    thermostatic shower mixer problem

There's a new housing development near us that suffers with this problem. Some of the houses are a couple of years old now and are starting to give trouble. Have been to one customer who's had a new cartridge for a bristan bar shower every 3 or 4 months due to it running cold. Managed to get...
