Totally agree! But to carry out all tests requires more than a multimeter. The other thing is that the first thing I would check for if coming to an immersion that was not heating would be to check for voltage. This was not stated in the step by step guide provided!

The op asked if he could test an element with with a miultimeter. The answer is not all tests can be done with a multimeter not yes! Do you disagree? And on another note how would you check for voltage at the element?

No starspark1, your post's on this topic are misleading. I have not commented just because it was you that had posted, just because it was misleading! This is certainly not the first time that you have been pulled for giving out incorrect information then turning it into some sort of personal...

If you don't like people commenting on your post's then either get all the info in or give out the correct info! If you give incorrect info be prepared to be pulled up on it! Starspark1, don't think that I am "baiting" you, I am simply trying to have a discussion regarding the info that you have provided. Don't take it personally! So do you now agree that all the tests on an element can not be done using a low reading continuity meter? Do you also agree that the info...

No you said yes that the op could test an element with a multi meter, when really they can only test certain things not all! Was not obvious in the op. Could quite easily have been no voltage to the element could it not. You should not assume that it has been tested when not specified. Not...

How would you know that there was voltage at the element to begin with, as you have not mentioned it in you step by step guide. Also you have failed to comment on the possibility of break down of the element. Please explain how you would establish this using your low reading continuity tester if...

If my head started to affect other people due to glare from my head shinning through my hair, then off it would go! Why cling onto one or two tufts (like oasis's in a desert or like a plain in a forest) when it's clearly obvious that you are losing the battle. At the end of the day whats wrong...
