And regarding this particular fault then simple fault finding would enable you to be able to reinstate the power by eliminating the faulty part of the circuit. Either as 2 radials or as one radial protected via a suitably sized protected device. It is just not good enough to say it's late...

Not the wickes stuff no. Have used crown which was alright but preferred johnstones aqua. Not as good a finish as oil though, that's why I was asking for other peoples recommendations!

Just moving the mcb to the non rcd protected side should not be an option in this scenario. There would surely be other options if unable to rectify the fault on the first visit depending on the fault.
