Sounds like the Eco7/Eco10 circuit is no longer working. Have you checked the CU trip switches? You haven't downgraded your supply have you?

Expanding on the timer question, why would an electronic timer differ in any way to a mechanical one? Surely they both activate the circuit by means of a relay? Why would the relay in an electronic timer be less able to switch inductive loads?

Good point. The live feed goes from thermostat, in series to something else, then to the element tag. Perhaps the 'something else' is a thermo that cuts out at high temperatures? :) My next set of questions: What's the best temperature to set the Eco7 thermostat at? How long on average...
