    Could be a few reasons why this happens. Clutch not disengaging fully, although I'd expect problems in other gears if this was the case. The gear change linkage might need adjustment. The gearbox oil might need topping up or replacing. I've had this problem on a couple of cars.

    My wife had a Morris Minor. We went through a succession of engines in it for one reason or another. It got to the point where we could change an engine and gearbox in about 1 1/2 hours. Other than that, Hillman (Chrysler) Imp that used to airlock the petrol feed to the carb. Not pleasant but...

    It's probably a good idea to get it serviced every couple of years. It doesn't cost much I think it was about £60 last time I had it done. Not forgetting of course to run your a/c for at least 10 min every couple of weeks or so.

    Could well be the ECU. You can get recon or pattern ones (I think) on places like EvilBay. It sounds similar to a fault we had on my wife's old Megane (petrol). Is your mechanic a Citroen specialist? There are some around who don't charge main dealer prices.

    Could be a number of things. Blocked jets. Even if you poke them with a pin they may be blocked inside. Should be easily removable to clean. Blocked piping. Pull the pipe off the jet and see what happens Split piping. More likely if it froze. Blocked filter as someone else said...
