ESP Infinite Prime Alarm - any experience?

This is the current setup:- One control box in the hall, two PIRs and two door contacts. I now need three PIRs (all to be wireless) the front door contact I will keep wired, and the back door I will use the wireless door contact. For this reason it is easier if the control box stays in...

ESP Infinite Prime Alarm - any experience?

No but if there was a remote keyboard, I would probably want to move the control panel else where in the house, so that would then need a new spur to that, and the existing spur would need to be disconnected.

ESP Infinite Prime Alarm - any experience?

Thanks in terms of wiring it would be easier if the it didn't have a keypad. Simply because the existing control panel is in the all (Texacom Vertitas 8) so all I would need to do is re-use the existing bell and mains wiring. If I get what with an external pad it would mean making a new spur...

ESP Infinite Prime Alarm - any experience?

Not sure I have much leeway on the budget, I have now discounted the ESP as from my own research it seems support may be a problem. I have been looking at the Honeywell Galazy 2 any reason to avoid that? I do have some requirements in that the control box must also be able to take wired...

    LOGIC 4 manual

That is a pretty old panel am I right in thinking its the one with the key? If so its very very simple I remember wiring one about ten years ago for a mate. What is the problem with it? If I remember correctly everything is labelled on the main board.

Alarm being wired into the lighting circuit?

Well I am now planning of a slightly different design which involves getting rid of all the wiring in the hall so that circuit can be isolated. I will then put the control box hidden in a cupboard with a wireless keyboard in the hall. I would for now feed the system of a plug until I get the...

Alarm being wired into the lighting circuit?

Thanks yep the lack of isolation is my main concern, currently I have isolate the downstairs lighting which is a problem when wiring the control panel!. We want the spark to add several extra sockets, maybe one in the hall then we could simply spur of a FCU from that. The original alarm...

New boiler - what do you sparks think of this wiring?

But I guess if it is a single pole and the phase is some how switched due to a fault, the consequences could be level by only isolating at the switch! It is an unswitched socket anyway so its not an issue.

Alarm being wired into the lighting circuit?

I am replacing the entire alarm system in the house as it is a bit of a mess. I know there is a separate section for that so I won't go into that here. I intend to use the original mains wiring which off the lighting circuit. Is it ok to have an alarm running of the lighting circuit? I can't...

New boiler - what do you sparks think of this wiring?

What about it all being powered of a plug? That is what that big dangling wire does, it goes to a plug socket. Also do the wires behind those hot water pipes look ok? I think I have already got my grandmother a bit worried :(. I have told her it is safe but just a bit of a mess but she...

New boiler - what do you sparks think of this wiring?

So the general feeling is it is a mess but nothing really to worry about?

New boiler - what do you sparks think of this wiring?

Indeed it was a plumber, but surely it has to still be of a decent standard?

    Bad one

They may already have permission for you. I run a workshop from my house and have full permission from the council.

Can I run another plug socket into this junction box?

It is not even that simple as you have to know if the socket is on a spur or not. If it is already on a spur you cannot add to it.

New boiler - what do you sparks think of this wiring?

My grandmother has just had a new boiler installed. There is a few bodges such as the thermostat being placed next to the gas fire!! but the wiring in the boiler room doesn't look too clever to me There seems to be wires all over the place which are not secure, the power to the boiler...

ESP Infinite Prime Alarm - any experience?

I want to replace most of the existing alarm system with a wireless one as the existing system is a mess. I was looking at the ESP Infinite is it any good? I want to use mostly wireless sensors but the existing bell box and existing front door magnet will remain hard wired. I will need...

    Should this really be replaced?

See a load of those MK switches in a lot of houses. I do wonder when I see them though if that means the electrics haven't been checked for 40+ years or if they are just there as they haven't been replaced. I have replaced nearly all the switches and sockets in our house as they have all failed...
