    We are refurbing a Victorian house and have a bedroom with a chimney breast in it which limits the entry space into the room.... see attached image. Is there a minimum gap permissible for this ? The existing stud wall was crooked so looking at possibly replacing it - but concerned about...

    Just trying to find out what building regs say we should/must do.

    We are planning to put in a new downstairs loo - will take up part of floorspace in kitchen but be entered from the hall. This will require us to put up an L shaped section of stud wall to form the cloakroom walls. Do we need to put any sound insulation in to comply with building regs...
