@trojanhawrs No condensate drain as things stand, the current boiler isn't condensing (28 year old Worcester!)

New bathroom layout & plumbing routes

Morning all. Thanks for your thoughts. Apologies for the delay replying; I had an eye procedure yesterday and couldn't see to type! @trojanhawrs it was well worth thinking about, and I might take structural / building control advice, but I think as you say it probably doesn't work. As I read...

New bathroom layout & plumbing routes

@trojanhawrs Joists are notched to 25mm deep for pipes at 150mm and 300mm centres from the window wall, otherwise clean. They are fairly level; there's a messy bit around where the shower is shown in the second image, as there was a chimney breast there that was obviously taken out many years...

New bathroom layout & plumbing routes

@trojanhawrs yes, supporting wall, though with a ground floor doorway directly below the first floor doorway. Joist ends built in to the wall. Should maybe also say the joists are 2.125" / 54mm thick.

New bathroom layout & plumbing routes

@RrogerD thanks. I think a shower over the bath has been rejected by the boss, though we will have another run through it - she really wants a walk in shower, and I'd like to make it happen if I can. I'll have a look at the shower waste run today, though I think going right round to the stack...

New bathroom layout & plumbing routes

Hi all, Trying to work out the layout for a new bathroom and struggling a bit because of plumbing routes. Room is 2.75 metres x 3.3 metres, with the window and door in the short walls and the joists running longways, i.e. from door wall to window wall. Existing (which was lashed in) looks like...

Does anyone have recent experience of Alpha NX boilers?

Thanks @Paul Barker for the prompt reply, that's really helpful; I think the repairer experience is very relevant. And thanks @Stuckinarut for chipping in. We found the prospective installer through a colleague of my partner's, who she says would not use idiots. We need to build a relationship...

Does anyone have recent experience of Alpha NX boilers?

Hi all, Looking to replace a Worcester Bosch combi. We'd thought Worcester Bosch again, or Vaillant, but a local installer who was recommended to us, and seems sensible, has suggested an Alpha NX. The fitted price seems reasonable, but I wondered if anyone here had recent experience of Alpha...

Worcester Bosch 280 RSF pressure etc. problems

Hi guys, thanks very much for your responses and apologies for the delay replying - things were really hectic at work before Christmas and I had little time to think about anything else, so we just nursed the boiler on. I won't comment on how it's going so as not to tempt fate! Am looking at...

Worcester Bosch 280 RSF pressure etc. problems

Morning All, Could I ask your advice about problems with a Worcester Bosch 280 RSF, GC 47 311 11? Initial symptoms were that the domestic hot water was taking a long time to get hot, the top half of the radiator nearest the boiler stayed cold, and the boiler had partly lost pressure a couple...
