Problems with new central heating system

You've had a new CH system installed, the first time you use it - it doesn't work properly ? Get the installer back and demand he put it right. I'm amazed that he says he won't charge you this time !

Potterton Performa HE30 - External Controls

I didn't say I was going to fit it in the kitchen. I did say that I was looking for a Room Thermostat that can be wired in. The CM921 or 927 is neither of those things. Can anyone recommend a suitable wired Room Stat without being rude.

Potterton Performa HE30 - External Controls

Thanks Calla99. A Wireless Stat is the best part of a £100. I would prefer a Wired Stat, much cheaper, and it's a straight run for the wiring into the kitchen. Ian

Potterton Performa HE30 - External Controls

This boiler is fitted in the garage, the only control is the integral timer. it has no Room Stat. All the radiators have TRV's. I would like to fit a wired Room Thermostat in the house to give me greater control. At the moment I turn off all the TRV's when the heating is not wanted for a few...

Pott Performa 30 HE - Water leak

Boiler works OK, but water is dripping out of the front of the Pressure Differential Assembly, drips much faster when the heating is on. I have removed the small O ring in front of the diaphragm assembly - which is all squashed up, tried replacing it with silicon grease, but still leaked...

    Potterton Performa 30HE AAV question

Thanks very much PlumbPlumb for your quick reply, it's a sealed system. So it's safe to leave until I need to drain down for any other reason. If I should need to change it earlier is it possible to do so without draining the boiler. Thanks again Ian

    Potterton Performa 30HE AAV question

The boiler works OK, but it has a small dribble from the screw on top of the AAV. I have turned this screw down to stop the leak. I assume it should be open a bit to allow the AAV to operate. Is this so ? Any advice would be welcome. Ian

Potterton Performa HE30 No Hot Water

Thanks for your quick reply, I have checked the points you mentioned, unfortunately with no luck. I examined the Diverter Valve and notice that with DHW outlet tap running, the rear pushrod operates but not the front pushrod. If I operate the microswitch with a screwdriver the burner ignites...

Potterton Performa HE30 No Hot Water

Hi I have just part drained the system to disconnect a radiator and fit it in a different position in the same room, the water that drained from the radiator was rather mucky. After refilling and venting everywhere I find that although the CH works OK, the DHW does not. With the boiler...

    Boiler Flow Temperature too High

Thanks for your comments boilerman2. I am afraid I do not have an electric thermometer so cannot test it exactly. However I do remember in the past the Flow pipe was 'Warm' (thermostat on minimum setting) you could leave your hand on it forever, yet now it is very hot, 5 secs and you have to...

Glow-worm Ultimate 50 BF - Boiler supplies a pumped Heating system only. The Thermostat does not really control the temperature, even when on the minimum settimg the Flow temperature is very high. I replaced the thermostat but it made no difference. Would appreciate any advice on the next...

    Grohe EAU2 Cistern

I have a Grohe EAU2 Cistern (2-years old) which occasionally runs non-stop into the Bowl. Most of the time it works OK, but then it will run all the time. To stop it I press the flush button a few times, and all is well until the next time. I have examined the Discharge valve which looks in...

Trouble with DHW - Heating OK. Potterton 30HE

I have a Potterton Performa 30 HE Boiler. Heating works fine but DHW is lukewarm. If I turn the selector switch to DHW only and then turn on a hot tap, the DHW outlet pipe from the boiler is warm but the Heating Flow pipe gets very hot. When the DHW is running both of the diaphragms in the...
