    Have you got the CU already? If not I'd go with metal gear - 50A MCB in enclosure in the house, run a 6mm 2 core SWA to the CU, terminating in glands at both ends - 2 Pole 63A 30mA RCD fitted in shed. You could use an A3 radial and 20A MCB with 2.5 T&E for your sockets - you could also...

    If the CU is that old does the wiring match? If so to add circuits you should get a PIR carried out first which will give you a list of remedial work that needs done to the existing installation. Is the bonding etc up to scratch?

    Round Pin plugs

    A rewire would be the best bet for safety reasons I reckon - assuming these are the old Type D(?) sockets the wiring will no doubt match.
