Heatslave lock out - please help !!

John, the nozzle is an 80 H. When I pull the burner so far out and watch the oil flow from the nozzle, it looks like a "squirt" with big droplets. Should this be an atomised spray ?? I understand why the electrodes wouldn't ignite droplets with oil that has such a low flash point, but...

Heatslave lock out - please help !!

Thanks for the advice, I've already tried 2 other nozzles that were replaced at various services, but no change. It does sound like a pump pressure thing to me. Would an engineer try to fix the pump, or would he just replace it ?

Worcester heatslave - flame stalling ??

Thanks very much for the advice, much appreciated :D Listening from outside the house close to the flue exit it sounds like a popping (banging is too harsh a word for it), a bit like a car misfiring, if you know what I mean ??

Worcester heatslave - flame stalling ??

Hi OilLecky, It's a Heatslave 15/19 oil fired combi with a room sealed balanced flue. The burner cover is a metal box you remove to access the oil pump and burner. By taking the burner cover off you are allowing air from inside the house to get to the burner. By putting the burner...

Worcester heatslave - flame stalling ??

No I don't think the flue gases are mixing as I used fire cement on the flue ring as recommended. It feels very much like an air flow problem. With the silver burner cover released from it's locking studs by about an inch, the noise stops, as if the burner is getting enough air. As soon as I...

Worcester heatslave - flame stalling ??

Evening all, After taking my Worcester Heatslave out for a welded leak fix on the boiler, it has been making a strange noise since reinstalation. It is definately inside the burner that is making the noise. To best describe it is to say it sounds like it is "stalling", as if the flame is...

How many times to wind PTFE tape ??

Thanks again for the advice. What might sound common sense to a plumber, means nothing to a non plumber trying to plumb a Worcester Heatslave in  So I've learnt you don't need PTFE tape on an olive cheers :D If someone could just describe how to use the sealing paste that would...

How many times to wind PTFE tape ??

Thanks for the advice so far :) A plumber friend of mine said a leak can be fixed by wrapping PTFE tape round the olive, as thats where the seal is made. I put the Worcester in originally, but it had to come out to get a leak welded on the boiler tank. It should go back in easily...

How many times to wind PTFE tape ??

Hi All, On the scrounge for some more info, hope someone can help. As a non plumber refitting my Worcester Heatslave oil combi, I would like to stop any water leaks before they start. How many times do you wind PTFE tape round a thread ?? Where would you put it on an olive ?? Do I...

    Heatslave Leak ?

SNB, Thanks for the reply. I've had a good feel round the back of the boiler tonight. Looking from the front there is a wet patch at the very bottom rear right hand corner of the boiler itself. It's dry above it and to the sides of it, so I think that is my leak. I'm just wondering if...

    Heatslave Leak ?

Hi, Just joined the forum to hopefully get some info on my 6 year old Worcester Heatslave 15/19 oil fired combi. My pressure gauge has been going down from 1 bar to .5 of a bar in 2 hours and the radiators are obviously sucking air in when I open the bleed valve - so I know I've got a leak...
