Come on Chris! whats this are you having an off day? The pilot light is on and the fans running meaning that the boiler is still in demand. Plus its an F model which means its got the same sort of running sequence as the Profile. I would look at PCB or check for power to main gas solenoid...

On the Chaff Celtic usually fan not running fast enough is a classic that is never found. Possibly venturi partially blocked. Its very rarly the switch itself but everybody always replaces it

When it goes out can you see a spark or hear it trying to relight?? or does it just stop demand and the fan stop. Stan

If you have a white rogers gas valve then I agree as above but if the gas valve is a honeywell with 2 red solenoids I very much doubt it will be that. I would suspect the PCB as mentioned the dry joints are repairable (so ive heard) Stan

Its not. Unfortunatly what nobody has mentioned is that the expansion vessel is probably knackered and the diaphragm perforated. The OP could try it though. Agree with Tony lovely old boiler this. Fit a remote expansion and keep the thing running for another 10 years. It will probably out run...
