MAIN MERSEY SUPER hot water gas heater

If its anything like the Medway you probably find the pilots blocked. Failing that is it relativley new like 6 years because they have an overheat thermostat which interupts the pilot on the Medway. Not sure about the Mersey. Stan

    Worcester-Bosch Condense Syphon Filling programme

Yes it is ID. The condensate drain is classed as part of the flue so whoever left it in a bucket whats a kick! Luckily most boilers have an inbuilt siphon so you dont actually get fumes unless its empty! The Worcesters have a Syphon fill program which you can turn off if its peeing you off...

    Combi recomendations

I think you are crazy if you have a 24CDi to actually want to replace it with a cheap boiler! Sure they have issues like every other boiler on the market but get it fixed even in the unlikely event of the PCB being faulty. Stan

    Worcester 240 ???????

If its a grundfos pump I bet the impellor has come off the back of the pump. You have no circulation so if there is no blockage and you are sure there is no airlocks then it could well be that. If you turn on the boiler but leave the gas off then remove the screw from the middle of the pump...

And how long have you had the one youve got now?? and how many times has it gone wrong? The only people who moan about their boiler are the ones who have a problem. You never get you mate in the pub say "You know what my Worcester boiler hasnt gone wrong in the last 5 years" will you...

    fitting radiator in a loft

Also dont forget that the return from the rad has to go into the return before the DHW return ie.DHW last in otherwise the rads will again get warm when the hot water is heating only. Good this lark init :) Stan

how to measure flame sense on ioinisation probe is working

I would agree with that statement Paul until I went to service a Potterton Profile which at the time was probably 6 years old. Bearing in mind it was working when I arrived by the time I had serviced it it wasnt rectifying which I thought odd. Checked all connections and for continuity on the...

Boiler starts up when cold water tap turned off

This is a work around and should not have to be done if the pipework both hot and cold is right without any deadlegs as mentioned. Either find the dead legs or fit an arrestor. Stan

how to measure flame sense on ioinisation probe is working

Flame sensing works by passing a small AC Milliamp current down to spark probe which is then rectified by the flame when it lights which is in turn picked up either by the earth of the appliance or a n other probe as DC milliamps. Therefore who ever told you to test in series on milliamp scale...

    Banging when zone valves close

The direction of the head against the body is erelevant. What you should have done was pay attention to the direction arrow which of course the instructions will tell you :?: However lesson learnt I guess. The head can be rotated to any position within the constraints of the 4 securing...
