    Leak in Combi CH

am i missing something here? just noticed you have exactly the same post 2 months ago when by the sounds of it the expansion vessel might have gone, you said in that post the boiler was hitting 3.5 bar!

    Leak in Combi CH

no that would be a bad idea, you need to maintain a minimum flow rate, even if your boiler had an internal bypass it would not cope with you isolating the flow and return pipe :(

    Pex pipe and combi

i had to alter some Hepworth in a fairly new build, lets just say things got moist! I don't like the idea of the o ring, we all know o rings go hard and start to letby, plus it really can be come blocked if the system is ever allowed to get in a mess

    Leak in Combi CH

all am really saying is a second opinion might help, hey the guy could be spot on but i know from experience that not all leaks on a boiler will show as something visible that will drip from the appliance, I would expect to be able to find a leak like yours on pipe work fairly easily...

    Leak in Combi CH

I say he is wrong there, I have seen leaks on Heat exchangers inside the combustion chamber, they never leaked on the kitchen work top, so might be well worth a second opinion from someone else

    Leak in Combi CH

well a leak inside the boiler would also give you the same problem, i know all about that after lifting all the floor boards up in a house to then find out the heat exchanger was leaking! Yes you could islolate the upstairs from the down but you back to square one if the problem continues...

    Leak in Combi CH

well how bad is the leak? are we talking instant pressure loss or over a few days? even a weeping compression fitting is enough to stop a system fairly quickly, as the water evaporates you don't see a wet patch, is the pipe work under a solid floor?

    Pex pipe and combi

I would use copper, plastic is for DIY and is very amateurish to say the least. If you have been to collage why are you messing around with plastic? You should try moving a plastic joint in a few years time, you can swivel them round when they are new but after a few years that kind of...

    Gloworm 30CXi leaking

yeah think the last one i changed had a copper section where the original had started leaking, as Chris says it is a job you can do yourself, but it is going to be fun, make sure that you don't damage the heads on any of the bolts, damage them and you really are in for a fun time. One tip...

    Keeping Tap Backnuts tight...?

are the taps on flexi's or hard piped? I hate flexi's and cut them out as soon as i find them, still end up coming lose sometimes as kitchen staff tend to hammer them.
