Its not the threads its a pinhole! Take the rad back, even if you could seal it you wouldnt want a new installed rad with bubbled paint and rust!

Condensate is acidic so is a likely cause of the enamel wearing thin!

Sounds like pcb and diverter needed, these pcbs are flaky, i replace loads! Although tests should be carried out as a pcb is an expensive guess!

Me, you and all heating engineers know to just remove the securing screw, we are programmed to think logically(mostly), OP has probably never removed the case of a boiler before so forgive him for pulling a wire off! Not everybody can be as good as a top 100 engineer you know
