    Loft Conversion and Part P

Question; aren't building Control going to inspect your work on a regular basis anyway? If so then I'm sure you would have something in writing by default!

    DVD recorder

Lol. I'm looking for a cheapo one. But everytime I find one, it does not record -R. P.S. All my other setups use -R, hence I want -R. So I dont need to buy 2 separates types of DVD's.

Ye, a door with no house attached.

    Bath Screen

Personally I would have thought this would have been the better way to install it on top of the tile. As it stops your wall getting wet! I just installed one for my place. Drilled through tiles and aqua panel and inserted plaster wallplugs & screws. Remember I aint no pro!

    New Home

Had this conversation last week. But yours is a nightmare. The amount of people that just get star struck by a lick of paint is amazing. We were even saying that if you knew what you were doing that you could hide subsidence!

They only represent what the author wants them to!

    Lanlord contract gone pearshaped.

My point exactly Thermo, just the way I like to do it. Wife - I can understand what your saying and that your trying to run a business. But it SHOULD not exist. It might be nice if it did, but is not neccessary. I know I might be going a bit overboard on this. But I'm fed-up with being...

Sounds like a good idea. No harm in listening!

    Lanlord contract gone pearshaped.

Not bitter at all. As I believe you need to learn from your experiences, which I have. As I previously said. If a tradesperson, does not want to do a job before because I'm not registered with an association, then thats up to them. I hate this saying so much, it's unbelievable. This has...

    Lanlord contract gone pearshaped.

As long as it's not compulsary, I dont really care. But this is how it starts! You cannot be serious! If I do need someone to do that, then I will engage their services. So I guess this goes back the above. Sounds a bit nanny state! As the saying goes. Frankly ma'am, I couldn't give a damn...

    Lanlord contract gone pearshaped.

Here we go. How long before we're forced to be a member of association or body. As well as having to pay a fee for someone to tell me what I already know and do! Wife, what happened to you is out of order. But please bear in mind, some of us landlords are happy doing what we have chosen to...

    Lanlord contract gone pearshaped.

Just for the record. I don't believe this builder heard my name on the grapevine. As if he did, he would know I'm not a messer. But thats his choice I guess. 1 and only quote. As I said I'll go back to using my crew, that I have been using for years. Your presuming that they wont give me a fair...

No and no. I personally cannot see the benefits.

    Lanlord contract gone pearshaped.

Tell you what though. I have learnt something from this. I have been waiting for a referred builder who came to my property to send through a quote. He came in mid December and I'm still waiting! I have chased him, and he said that he was a bit busy and is still on the case. After...

    Lanlord contract gone pearshaped.

I meant the tenants, not you. Not sure what you found offensive about my 2nd paragraph. But what I meant was that an invoice says pay me! and a contract is a bit extensive!

I welcome people like this all day long! Makes people behave themselves that much more, when they walk through my door! I'm still trying to work out how your husband ended up signing this contract. Not having a dig, but an invoice and contract should look different!

    Grout on grout

Thinks it was peach! But there was some repair work done, and a different colour was used. Hence I want to bring everything to same colour. I plan to do a complete overhaul of the bathroom in the future anyway (and it does not look that bad really). But was going to do it, to keep it looking...

    Grout on grout

Can I grout over old grout? I have some points of failure in grout, that need to be filled. But I cant find the colour anymore. So I just want to use a new grout, and match everything up. Is this possible?
