Best inline extractor fan to replace this?

Yep we run with an overun of about 25 mins currently as thats what it takes to clear the room of steam and condensation. It's from the lights but it's not a big deal to put them on when we're in there as they are low energy. It's no different to pushing a button to activate the fan really. As...

Best inline extractor fan to replace this?

Yep I always have the window and door closed and so the air is always being drawn in at the lowest, furthest spot.

Best inline extractor fan to replace this?

Thanks again guys, see a rough plan of the bathroom below and a pic of the intake (the green circle on the plan)... It's actually a pretty small room (only about 7 feet cubed) and the position of the fan intake is pretty good (being the complete opposite corner of the room to the gap...

Best inline extractor fan to replace this?

Thanks for that John, and do you have any experience of those inline fans, or any others that you could recommend as being good performers/reliable?

Best inline extractor fan to replace this?

Thanks for that Eric, I can get a hygrometer I guess, but I don't believe we have a more general problem with humidity in the house. We don't really get condensation on windows etc. and we make sure we don't leave wet washing about the place etc. It just seems to be a particular problem in the...

Best inline extractor fan to replace this?

I'm looking at replacing an underperforming 4" inline fan (a Silavent Vitalis 100) for my bathroom. We've shortened the run of ducting and removed some bends and it has a fairly good supply of air from under the bathroom door but it's still not cutting the mustard. It's rated at (I believe)...

Best way of repainting this slightly mouldy ceiling (pics)

Cheers Honda, maybe I'll go the brush route then. As you say, it gives a bit more control. I think I'll use masking tape too though or else I'm bound to get at least some on the tiles.

Anyone? Some tips on brush vs. roller and how to keep the paint off the tiles would be really handy. :)

Best way of repainting this slightly mouldy ceiling (pics)

Hi all, We've got a slight mould/mildew problem on our bathroom ceiling. We're about to fix the root cause of this by improving the bathroom extractor and also the loft insulation above, but just before we do those bits we want to give the ceiling a lick of paint. As you can see (or...

IP65 & fire rated downlight allowing easy bulb replaceme

Ahh ok yep, kinda muppetry on my part. I found the original manual (they are B&Q "Kerry" fittings apparently). Very similar to these. I hadn't realised that one is supposed to pull the whole of the chrome surround down. That said, pulling it down (and the clip thingies through the...

Thanks Taylor, you're probably right and it's just muppet error on my part. I'll have another look tonight. :)

IP65 & fire rated downlight allowing easy bulb replaceme

So, if I go the cap route (assuming there's no better designed downlight fitting that doesn't need one), what's the best sort to go for? A large one that sits between the joists like this? They don't seem to allow access at the top though? Unless I'm missing something? :?
