    Ease of Moving Plug Socket

Just to confirm I intend on putting a fireplace where the old one is, so would be moving rather than placing a new one. As I am just moving I assume this is just about figuring out how to get the exiting wiring to the new location. Good suggestion with the drill through the wall. I assume for...

    Ease of Moving Plug Socket

I definitely don't want to do any minitrunking, in my view it looks rubbish. SDS drill sounds like a good idea. How would I determine if there is a steel goalpost in the buttress? There are no light switches near the area.

Some more pictures to show the cabling. The skirting board is not even stuck to the wall.

    Ease of Moving Plug Socket

Hi, I am interested in understanding how easy it would be to move a plug socket to the other side of the wall, see attached. Is this something that can be attempted by a DIYer or should be left to an electrician?

    How to remove this tap?

Just to close the thread off, I eventually fixed the drip. I ended up servicing the cartridge (replacing all O rings), reinserted and shower stopped dripping!

    Skirting - How to Improve?

Hi fellow DIYers, Attached a few photos of our current skirting. The skirting is: -Chewed in places, presumably from a dog -Not stuck on in places -Has a varying gap from the wall (between 1mm and 1.5 cm) The appearance isn't great. Any recommendations on how we can improve this? Should we...

    How to remove this tap?

Alternatively I could try servicing the cartridge. https://www.showerdoc.com/sirrus-1500-style-valve-seal-service-kit-sk1500-1 Thoughts?

    How to remove this tap?

The saga continues... I ordered a new box spanner and managed to (albeit the box spanner being too big), using the coin trick, undo the nut. Underneath the nut there is a cartridge, see below. I took the cartridge to Plumbase and although they could not identify it, Plumbase told me I need a...

    How to remove this tap?

It's not possible to switch to the shower! The centre tap turns the shower water on and off! The outside taps control the bath. It's possible to run both at the same time!

    How to remove this tap?

Hi Burnerman, This trick here is that the outside taps do not control or influence the shower at all?

    How to remove this tap?

    How to remove this tap?

Hi guys, Apologies for reviving this thread. Managed to get the centre tap head off this weekend, however I am now stuck with another problem. The hexagonal nut (32mm) is sunken into the tap hence I cannot use a wrench to undo it. Any ideas what sort of tool I would need to get this off?

    How to remove this tap?

Thanks guys I'll have a go at unscrewing the nut on Thursday. Snes - I'll have a go but I did try soaking the entire thing in vinegar so presumably this would have dislodged any scale formation.

    How to remove this tap?

Hi John, Hopefully the images below makes it clearer. As you can see the middle tap head is not of the same design. Madrab - I'll have a go at unscrewing the nut however unfortunately I won't have able to turn the water off until next Thursday now :(

    How to remove this tap?

The centre tap controls flow and temperature. The side taps don't have an influence on the shower. You can turn the shower and bath on at the same time if you turn centre and outside taps. I've searched everywhere for a grub screw but I can't find one anywhere! The outside ones don't have a...

    How to remove this tap?

Hi Madrab. The centre tap controls both the flow and the temperature unfortunately. It is the only moveable part that controls the shower. The problem is I can't figure out how to get the centre tap head off! The outside tap heads unscrew and then can be pulled off but on the centre there is...

    How to remove this tap?

Thanks Ted. Unfortunately the side of the bath is tiled off. Does this mean I won't be able to take the tap off to find the washer?

    How to remove this tap?

Hi all, I have a dripping shower head. I have read through various online articles and have eventually replaced the shower head and washers, unfortunately the shower head is still dripping. There are 3 taps, the 2 outside taps control the bath, the central tap controls the shower. I cannot...
