    Valliant Ecotec plus 831

It is a "feature" Read the manual on how to turn it off. Its called aqua comfort or something. On my ecotec pro 28 you move the water temp dial to the right, green light goes on, set the temp, then move it to the left. Try this, or do opposite. I can't quite remember myself!

    Noise in Flat

I think he's hearing the fan and/or pump from a combi boiler and a macerator/pump for the water (noise when flushing loo) If the noise continues for only a few minutes it could be the boiler. My ecotec runs for a few minutes after DHW demand has ceased. I'd have a chat with the vendor if...

    Stinking toilet

Sometimes a hijack gets the ball rolling ! The soil vent is a big long pipe which runs up the outside above the roof. This is terminated and joins the soil stack pipe at the exit to the house. The waste runs into a chamber outside. I have removed the IC lid and theres no whiffs down there...

    Stinking toilet

Jeeze chantelle, what about Nicky? Bah! The reason I've replied to this is because my toilet stinks as well. Its only 3 years old, but the waste is about 15. We used a connector to connect it to the waste (suprisingly enough) It seems to be coming from the bowl. Bleach an all sorts doesn't...

Full bore Isolators (or lack of one causing noise)

I cannot understand when replacing my isolator valve that the actual hole the water goes through is as big as my japseye. I live in an area where we are on a shared supply and I would like like to get a fullbore stoptap. Will this eliminate some of the noise that the 15mm pipe that carries the...

    Stinking toilet

Thats not such a great idea with the bleach block fella. I have fluidmaster products in my cistern, they recomend not to use bleach products. I wish i'd read that before my flapper shrunk, and caused £80 worth of damage and a replacement ciphon.

    Torbeck Siphon

ok pushing down on the overflow to put pressure on the seal stops the leak, so the problem is....whats causing the lack of a seal? the cable being too tight - don't think so as theres alot of slack. Not tightening into the bayonet properly? - possible Or just a faulty unit? - possible. Chars

    Torbeck Siphon

Yep, and I sealed round it after doing it up tight. I suppose it could be coming from there, but I have managed to reduce and increase the flow slightly by adjusting the flush cable and loosening the bayonet connector to the base. There is plenty of play in the cable. Thanks for your replies...

    Torbeck Siphon

No its not the inlet thats the problem its the siphon part. It doesn't seem to be making an adequate seal to stop the water running into the pan.

    Torbeck Siphon

Have just replaced my old fluidmaster siphon with a torbeck one because of a leak into the pan. The flapper on the old one kept coming off of its ears, which I thought was the problem. However after fitting the torbeck the problem still remains. There is still a slight run of water into the...

How hard can it be? (replacing copper t with speedfit)

Hi, Have to replace a copper t on 22mm pipe work. How easy will it be to heat up the solder and remove this t, then replace with some speedfit bizness? Also is there such thing as a pushfit T with a tap connector on the junction?
