Flexible section of exhaust on fiesta ztec

Is it just the flexible bit itself, you can get universal ones to weld on providing the rest of the exhaust is good, £25 from Derek Wards in Bishop. Don't know what it is to weld, but I do it myself anyway, damn site cheaper than replacing. Someone ran into the car a few weeks and wrote it of...

Haynes manuals, end of an era.

I did my brothers clutch on a Cavalier, had to stop job and go out and buy some of those 12 splined jobs to get on with it, easy job though, one of those where you don't have to seperate the G/box.

    Best builders vans?

I'm not actually in the motor trade, but I restore/modify classic cars/4x4's, I try to keep off modern stuff if I can, unfortunately this means you end up doing favours. I work quite a bit with my builder mate, so end up on his vans. Since I did his van I started looking at transits more...

    Cellar partially filled with rubble...why?

I follow conspiracy theories, not because I believe them, I just find them really amusing and there are some real idiots on YT, there are hundreds of them that go round filming basements and claim the entire world was mudflooded, the pics here are typical of a supposed mudflood building. They...

    Best builders vans?

I've never owned or run vans, but I've kept my builder mates vans going for the last 30 years, his most recent one was a Transit, pile of rot, welded sills, rear spring hanger, wheel arches etc, It was only 8 year old when I first welded it, then every year for the next 3 years, probably would...

    Cellar partially filled with rubble...why?

It could be part of an ancient hidden Tartarian empire building, covered in a deluge of mud in 1850 to reset the human population and originally inhabited by giants! Seriously though there are actually people who believe this, search mudflood on Youtube.

Haynes manuals, end of an era.

Wasn't there an original Tiger Cub Manual on line, I remember printing one off, I'm sure I had it saved on my old PC The older factory Morris Minor manuals had instructions for welding panels by surrounding the area to be welded with some sort of asbestos paste to absorb the heat!! How times...

Haynes manuals, end of an era.

I've got a genuine Suzuki LJ80 manual but it must have been translated into English by someone who's first language was Japanese, spelling mistakes all over the place!! You'd have thought they'd have had it checked by someone who's first language was English. Good manual though, however it had...

Haynes manuals, end of an era.

To be fair they were getting a bit lazy with them, "gearbox rebuild is beyond the DIYer" this was for a Suzuki SJ410, **** easy gbox to rebuild, went and bought the genuine Suzuki one, Haynes one got put on a shelf never to be looked at again.

    Extension appeals

Back in the days when there was less delegated powers and all planning apps, even minor ones, used to go to committee, quite a number would get refused against the officers recommendation. The applicant would use the officers original recommendations as grounds for appeal and the same officer...

How to go about getting building regs

I've had a brief look at Scottish Regs and it appears that you must get a warrant prior to commencing work as I suspected, this involves submitting drawings spec etc and getting these approved, much the same as a full plans app in England, however you cannot start within 48 hours of submission...

50 Rusted Bolts - How to remove?

I find local independant shop are cheaper I pay about half what they charge at tool station, even cheaper when you pay cash and don't want a receipt for smaller quantities that's if you have one of course. The one I use is directly opposite toolstation on the other side of the road A vertical...

    Drop links

I fit the cheapest as I don't do the mileage nor do I have to go up and down any rough farm roads these days and they seem to last, though when I did I used to have to replace the steering rack on a MK4 Escort ever MOT and had it down to under 15mins to change to change a track control arm. I...

50 Rusted Bolts - How to remove?

If the ply is shot, angle grinder, but use a cutting disc vertically and make one cut across the centre, then just pin punch the bolt through, the thin discs are the best for this. It'll take longer with a grinding disc.

Horse power, why do we need so much?

They should have dropped the Land Rover body shell on the Gypsy chassis and running gear when they part of BMC. Far better diesel engine than that pathetic thing Land Rover used.

Horse power, why do we need so much?

Escape window and protected stairway for loft conversion?

That'll be it but these are no longer accepted for 2nd floor loft conversions, they are still OK below this level.

Escape window and protected stairway for loft conversion?

They should know by now, its not as if its just been changed recently, in any case it was always an option to upgrade to a protected route if for some reason an escape window could not be fitted at the correct height without moving purlins etc, it was also required to upgrade to fire doors if...
