Why would somebody advertise a car that has failed the last 2 MOT tests?

I've changed loads, but all my everyday eurobox boring cars are left outside, garages are for rebuilding interesting cars, motor bikes and scooters, I also only buy cars for less than £300 so high mileages of over 200,000 is not that unusual to me.

Does our detached garage conversion need building regulations?

From your description it sounds like it is presently a B reg exempt building, ie substantially non combustible, under 30 sq m, no sleeping accommodation. As the alterations you are proposing will not change its use, the work will be exempt from B regs with the exception of (if applicable) G1...

Why would somebody advertise a car that has failed the last 2 MOT tests?

My daughters discs were shot at just over 20K after 4 years, she had the car from new and is probably the most careful driver I know, but it only did short journeys and was often parked up for days on end so had plenty of time to rust in between, whereas my Mondeo which did 30K a year was ragged...

    Out of date building sand???

I used to compete in trials and use tubes with greatly reduced tyre pressures, so not really a consideration.

    Can brake hose cause this?

I've encountered this once on a Peugeot 205, flexi was a one way valve, I had to open the bleed nipple to push back the brake piston as I was changing the metal to metal pads/disc so it could be used till I got a new hose. Never encountered it since and I only run old cars.

    Diesels

Yeah, "Eraserhead" his cult classic first movie and, aside from Alex Cox's cult classic "Repo Man", the most eminently quotable movie.

"In heaven everything is fine" I wonder how many people are reading these replies and wondering what the hell are they going on about!

Why would somebody advertise a car that has failed the last 2 MOT tests?

I've only used braided ones there's a solid bit of pipe either end that slips over exhaust to weld, but I've just seen some clamp on ones as well.

Why would somebody advertise a car that has failed the last 2 MOT tests?

I paid £25 for the last one and I do my own welding. Welding shouldn't be to expensive as its not that difficult.

Chimney breast / fireplace for cooker & hob

If there is an existing lintol B Control are not required, though I can only recall one occasion being asked to inspect anything like this, though I'm sure it wasn't the only one carried out.

    Diesels

I first saw this movie in 82 not knowing anything about it or David Lynch, ended up watching it 3 times in a week.

Jesus T**ty F***ing Christ!!! I'd have to pay more to park my car than what I pay for the car!!! The most I've paid for a car in the last 10 years is £320 and I've had that 2 1/2 years. Mary usually does the carving but tonight since you are our guest, you could do it, Henry. All right with...

    RSJ being supported right?

I think the engineer was being quite polite and not expressing his real opinion. You would really expect the vertical steel to be taken down to a foundation and have a base plate welded to it and bolted down. I've never seen anything like that in 40 years of inspecting work. Its one of those...

    RSJ being supported right?

WTF!!!! Very novel to say the least! Not seen it done like that before!!! Where are the calcs? Are Building Control involved?

Chimney breast / fireplace for cooker & hob

I did something similar, the kitchen originally had a range in the opening that had been bricked up to fit an open fire place, then bricked up even further for a gas appliance. I opened it back up and used the original lintol so no need for B Control, although it wouldn't have been much of a...

    Out of date building sand???

I used to run mine at 12psi for competition use and heavy snow (where I worked had the highest road in England!), hence the tubes. The tyres I used were self cleaning anyway, though at lower pressures this worked even better but it was best not to stand within 40' of the back of the vehicle.

    French Door replacing window

Looks like there's not much end bearing and I can't see any evidence of a cavity tray. What has been used for a lintol on the inner leaf? Have B control seen it yet?

    Out of date building sand???

Not 100%?? I do that but with tubes in as well, it's to reduce tyre pressures for competition use and snow to increases the footprint area without increasing tyre width, but I leave some air in hence the tubes so the tyres don't push off the rims. Never noticed any difference when pumped back...

Neighbours flue overhangs my boundary (split off from old thread)

Its actually 2 years to get it to court, the new neighbour who wasn't there is in no position to claim when it was done. I've contacted gas safe several times in these situations to report the gas safe installers for carrying out illegal work and not notifying them of the installations when...
