    Strut mount change!

To be fair its only been the Mondeo I've had trouble with, I think I had to cut off the bolts on my mates Toyota or it may have been my brothers Mazda, but they were just a nut and bolt so were easy to get at rather than being a captive bolt like on the Mondeo.

    Strut mount change!

QUOTE="Burnerman, post: 4841990, member: 76504"]the Never had a problem with a Fiesta, I had the struts out in well under an hour. Although it took longer on my own Fiesta, but that's cos my mate did it for me under my supervision, I'd just had an operation and the day I started driving again...

    Strut mount change!

I always buy a new bolt in advance as well, and then run a tap down the thread to clean it out. I once spent 2 hours getting one out, taking it out an extra half turn each time, WD40, winding it all the way back in, back out an extra half a turn, lots of heat etc and it snapped when there was...

    Strut mount change!

I've always just removed the whole thing, though it might be better method on a Mondeo as the pinch bolt always seems to be seized and snaps off.

Foundations for conservatory with dwarf wall and tiled roof

As far as I am aware all local authorities are following the interpretation of a conservatory (clear/translucent roof) in the linked doc., certainly all of the authorities from Northumberland to North Yorks follow this interpretation, as has been the case since the exemption for conservatories...

Foundations for conservatory with dwarf wall and tiled roof

If it needs B Regs then follow the very general advice in one of my previous replies, in any case it will need to be inspected by a BCO.

Foundations for conservatory with dwarf wall and tiled roof

Its not exempt from B regs in that case. In reality rarely the case, I've seen one built on tarmac and quite a few just on yard/patio slabs, over made up ground etc..

    Wooden Garage Side Extension

As a very general rule 900mm deep for clay soils, 600mm deep for sand/gravel, sand is not a particular problem unless its wet and running. Depths may need to be deeper depending on specific ground conditions ie made up ground, trees nearby with shrinkable clays, drains under or near building...

    Cutting Roof Trusses

Whatever type of roof you have, including a trussed rafter, it can be done, it just depends on how much work/expense you want to go to.

    Angle Grinder Disc Removal?

I've used a tool less spindle nut for years now, don't know what they cost these days but it wasn't cheap, well worth it as more often than not I'm constantly swapping from cutting/grinding/flap discs/cup brushes but I restore old 4x4's, scooters etc., you don't really need to change as often...

    Welding metals

Tried this but I couldn't get a decent weld, though to be fair it was an Indian built Lambretta engine casing and they'll pass off any old alloy as aluminium over there. Ended paying a welder to repair it with a tig welder. Lumiweld might work better with something aproaching "real" aluminium.

That doesn't even warrant an explanation!

    Bricking up kitchen window

An inner room is allowed for a kitchen. Bricking the window up won't require B Regs, though I would advise you to install mechanical ventilation if not already fitted and this is the only window.

    Would this pass building regulations

One like this? Or have you already done it? Either way the answer is no.

Why is Land-Rover still such an unreliable marque ?

I used to compete in trials in a Suzuki LJ80, used to drive there, compete, usually win, drive home with no problems. Invariably by the end of the day there was always a few broken LR, blown diffs, half shafts, etc, hardly surprising when the RR V8 of that era had half shafts only marginally...

TWO NEW INTERNAL STAIRCASES.... to be or not?

For example, if the existing staircase is an enclosed hallway leading to a final exit, by moving it so it now exits into a living room, we could potentially have an inner room situation so you could be looking at installing escape windows to the bedrooms and if not already fitted, smoke detection.

TWO NEW INTERNAL STAIRCASES.... to be or not?

The installation of a staircase in an existing dwelling does not require B Regs, however it will inevitably involve some other work that does requires B Regs: structural alterations to the floor; depending on the existing layout, work affecting means of escape in case of fire. Planning would not...
