Aerial Installation - Sleeve Anchor Bolts Vs Through Bolts

We could type hints and tips about this job forever. If you really want to know everything see https://www.amazon.co.uk/dp/B00S4XSLAG

    Distribute Sky

A Loft Box is usually the solution if you are happy with "RF quality" pictures from the Sky box. However, it requires the aerial cable to go to it (usually in the loft - as its name implies). Getting the aerial cable into the loft (if it's not already there) might not be straightforward. See...

    Co axial cable

I recommend WF65-1 cable. It's less than 5mm diameter but good enough for TV signals (unlike some of the "clothes line quality" cable sold by some DIY stores!) It also has a smaller bend radius than WF100 (50mm or 2"). See http://www.satcure.co.uk/accs/cables_plugs.htm

Wiring a stereo player into a megaphone

As we are all trying to explain, yellow is your audio input. Black is zero volt or ground.

Wiring a stereo player into a megaphone

It needs a microphone not a speaker and the microphone needs to have the correct impedance and output level. Try an electret microphone. In addition, the yellow wire needs to be disconnected from the existing circuit. The red & black? Smoke.

Wiring a stereo player into a megaphone

By convention, red is positive and black is negative. Your images suggest that might be so but the simplest way to check is with a multimeter set to volts. http://www.amazon.co.uk/dp/B00QGQOT0Y

Wiring a stereo player into a megaphone

It looks like yellow is the feed from the volume control. Do you hear a click or buzz when you touch it with your finger (volume turned up)?

    Bathroom Plumber wanted in Cheshire

Bathroom Plumber wanted in Cheshire My friend has a house in Sandbach and is looking for a plumber to remove/replace the ancient ensuite bathroom toilet and bath as he can't DIY. Toilet is old fashioned with separate flush tank. Bath is cast iron and may need to be smashed. Units to be...

    HDMI splitter

For the record, no RF output is suitable for a TV screen larger than about 28 inches. And the RF audio is mono.

Wiring a stereo player into a megaphone

It's a siren. I'm a qualified electronics engineer but even I couldn't convert it without a circuit diagram. Forget it and buy a proper amplifier and speaker system.

Please help me design this AV network properly

Our illustrious government has plans to sell off ALL of the UHF bandwidth for mobile use ASAP. This is being done in stages but channels 61 - 68 have already gone and 51 to 60 will be gone in a (very) few years. Broadcast satellites could be wiped out by a solar storm and it would take a long...

Please help me design this AV network properly

TV addicts tell me "yes". If, for example, the LNB fails, they can continue to get their "fix". I feel sad for people such as this, who probably never sat down to read a good book, but they think it's worth having both systems for "an emergency".

    Brand new TV aerial

It sounds as if you had it installed on a wall. A chimney installation would cost more - sometimes a lot more. Cost varies for other reasons. As Lucid says, an expert will have a spectrum analyser - not just a meter - because some locations are in sight of more than one transmitter and require...

Please help me design this AV network properly

Why do you want to buy cable from a book store? Why not buy from a specialist? Having said that, Lucid has an Amazon store but I don't see speaker cable: http://www.amazon.co.uk/s/ref=sr_pg_1?rh=k%3Alucid+av WF100 is generally good for up to 30m with an LNB signal. However, the multiswitch...

    Aerial Part

Good point. I see nothing wrong with it. It just needs a good brushing with a wire brush then protecting with paint. If the PCB-mounted F connector is corroded inside, it can be replaced.

Also, it's available in 6 colours, which makes it easy to determine which end is which.

    Aerial Part

UK regulator Ofcom have revealed their aim to clear the 700MHz frequency band in the UK for use by mobile data services no later than the second quarter of 2020. Channels 61 - 68 have already been cleared for 4G use and this proposal means that channels 50 or 51 - 60 will go.

Bose Soundtouch 535 surround sound system

That's not a good example because HDMI signals are handled by digital circuits. That means that you get either excellent picture and sound or dreadful picture and sound, with almost no in-between state. Therefore a cheap HDMI cable which is just "good enough" will be fine. In contrast, a cable...
