    A bookcase door...

Hi all, I want to create a bookcase door to go and the end of our corridor into our services cupboard. There seem to be several makers of these in the USA but can't seem to find a company over here that make them. I've found DIY instructions online at...

New roof with skylight (should it be warm or cold construction)

Also, we were going to add down lighters above the bifold doors... just had a thought that we could introduce a horizontal strip of LED's in a diffuser between the bottom the GRP and the white fascia to "hide" the lights and make them a bit funky, could even get the multicolored ones ready for a...

New roof with skylight (should it be warm or cold construction)

thanks for the pics - tried to look through noseall's historic posts but there were too many! Will show the wife but not sure she'll like that approach. I may be wrong... I attach a poor quality image of the back of the house below (flat roof on the right is the one in question). The rafters...

Best way to plumb and then control our new heating & hot water system in old house...

Fyi (and anyone else that stumbles across this thread in the future), I have an ongoing discussion with a very helpful person at heatmiser tech support. He has advised that the neostat's do not adjust to the actuator speed, he suggested using the switching differential at 0.5'c, if the room were...

New roof with skylight (should it be warm or cold construction)

Googled and agree - they look terrible! the flat roof will sit directly below a bedroom window so we can't be having them stuck up in the air! Are there no other options?

New roof with skylight (should it be warm or cold construction)

Hi all, Building an extension on the back of our house atm. Part of it is single storey with a flat roof, and a large skylight (1m x 2m). The roof was specified as a warm roof but my wife concerned by the thickness of it and that it will look out of place against the rest of the house (old...

Best way to plumb and then control our new heating & hot water system in old house...

Ah - in that case we could go back to a manifold setup for the upstairs rads..! Too many options to think about and not assisted by our plumber not being on-board with our plans...

Best way to plumb and then control our new heating & hot water system in old house...

I had started out thinking we'd use a manifold with actuators but told by several that the response time would be a bit slow resulting in rooms peaking in temp, then dropping, then peaking etc... The heatmiser stats can control valves directly removing the need for another wiring centre...

Thanks for the reponses all... Greatly appreciated. We will press on and he will fit our desired system ☺☺☺ I've also found the Sunvic Momo SZMV 2322 15mm valve which would help to save some cupboard space over the 22mm alternatives! Re the boiler this has not yet been finalised - I know one...

Best way to plumb and then control our new heating & hot water system in old house...

Space in the services cupboard is limited - but he says he can make it fit. Number of electric valves - that could break in future with wear (but I'm planning on specifying the Drayton ones where the motor is replaceable (click on/off). As the house is old he recons the downstairs underfloor...

Best way to plumb and then control our new heating & hot water system in old house...

So our underfloor heating is going in atm and the plumber is raising concerns about out chosen control system and how it will need to be plumbed... We've opted for a Heatmiser Neo system, each bedroom, each downstairs room will have their own zone, the two bathrooms will be controlled together...

Best way to plumb and then control our new heating & hot water system in old house...

Given the amount of work that we're doing cost is a big consideration - our priority is getting a good long warranty at a sensible price. To be honest the above was what he included in his quote and I have advised him I am likely to specify a different one when the time comes, always open to...
