So i had an extension done on my house about 6 months ago and have pretty much left the garden as a DIY project (obviously been a bit lazy since i've now only just gotten around to it) lol But finally getting around to the stage where i am looking to turf the remaining part of my garden (patio...

What type of Shower do i have?

My shower in the ensuite master bedroom is starting to look abit dated (inc the tiles). But i have no idea what type of shower it is that i have, it doesnt seem like it is one of those where you can buy off the shelf at a Bath store as its esentially a frame with a hinge and shower door/screen...

Builder going past agreed date, penalties?

Hi Notch, Mine is more a case of the fact that i have always had a back garden cam which faces my house, and that i have most of my downstairs fitted with surveillance due to past issues with security. I didn't go in hot-wired with a secret mic and cam in my clothes if that's what it sounded...

Builder going past agreed date, penalties?

Sorry i forgot to ask about the bit where you mentioned 'his damages', i would have assumed that if he had any problems that he would have brought them up to me because the validity of his claim would only occur if he has notified me of them at some point. Each problem that i have had with him...

Builder going past agreed date, penalties?

Hi Woody, yes i can see what you mean in regards to the losses and having them pre-set, that is something i will have to figure out with him and something i should have done retrospectively. With them being justifiable and verifiable, the entire project has been recorded (externally and...

Builder going past agreed date, penalties?

Thats what i thought, but a few people suggested that i use the JCT contract as it is quite a good 'standard' form. I just assumed that financial penalties are different to each job so hence why they couldn't put any penalty figures into their pre-made contracts

Builder going past agreed date, penalties?

Hi Freddie, Yes i can understand that either a frosty parting or burning bridges towards the end of a job will not bode well further down the line but if he has already tried to shortcut bits on the job and doing things that he knows might create further problems down the line, considering that...

Builder going past agreed date, penalties?

Thats the thing, i have been having issues with quite abit of the work and i literally have to be on-site every day of the project to make sure that things are happening the way they are 'supposed' to. I have invested alot more hours that he has into making sure that the job gets done properly...

Builder going past agreed date, penalties?

I am 'hopefully' nearing the end of the completion of my extension now but its getting towards the end the work and has now slowed down (less guys coming in and staying for shorter time periods) because i find out that they are being rerouted to another job that their boss has them working on...
