    Alpha CB28

Thanks Ian, well I've replaced the thermistor, and no change at all. I've run the hot tap at certainly no more than 2l/min and once over it's initial cutout and restart it runs continuously. Doesn't this rule out the diverter valve? could something be sticking causing an overheat problem until...

OK thanks, there doesn't seem to be any problem with the flow rate once the boiler kicks in again, but will watch that, needless to say the boiler is behaving perfectly tonight

Thanks for the quick reply, but sorry should have also stated have a 'proper' water softener  wouldn't ever be without one, they are fantastic! agree though that water temp seems a likely cause somehow, I had wondered about the 'seasonality' adjustment thing, but it doesn't really say...

    Alpha CB28

Apologies if the answer is already on here, I did search, but anyway... Alpha CB28, heating side is fine, but on the dhw side turn hot tap on, boiler fires up for about 40-50 secs (hot water starts coming through tap) then cuts out for about 10 secs before reigniting after which everything is...

INSTALLING BUILT UNDER ELECTRIC DOUBLE OVEN + CERAMIC HOB

Possibly I misunderstood the OP BUT YOU CANNOT REPLACE THE SINGLE SOCKET WITH A DOUBLE FOR THIS, It HAS to be a proper cooker connection point! 2x 4mm t&e, 1 to each hob and oven should suffice.

Which cable for an induction Hob?

What the instructions actually (rather obscurely) mean is that the terminals will take from 2.5-6mm cable. You can either fit seperate 2.5 to each terminal from your wall connection unit, OR you can fit a single 6mm (l+n) to L1 and N1 and connect L2 and N2 using the supplied connectors, which...

Bathroom extractor wiring - user error?

Firstly you shouldn't be using the overrun in conjunction with an humidistat, and the humidistat does a better job once set correctly. You will need to experiment (for weeks!) to get the right setting on the humidistat. I would suggest starting the setting at 80% and if it does not run long...

The 'microsoft' cold call scam. I had a call today from a company calling themselves 'Take Care' offering the same scam. At least they have a sense of irony  pass it on!

    FIT payment

SO who's going to start a publicity campaign showing how unfair the FIT is? I would certainly support it but public speaking is not my strong point.

Fit 2 PV solar panels now, more later?

When you install solar pv for the FIT you are 'locked in' to your commissioning date i.e. you cannot add a few extra panels next year and claim the FIT on them

pv power, what have I missed?

Hi John, anyone going down the third party route must be totally insane. Who will ever buy a house with a sitting tenant that only pays perhaps £200 pa rent?

pv power, what have I missed?

I DID see BAS' comments, they were exactly what I expected :D . I'm sorry that this thread has degenerated into yet another slanging match. Thanks for the constructive comments. Yes my greatest concern is the govt just scrapping the FIT in a few years when the costs start really mounting up...

pv power, what have I missed?

Been researching pv today, I hadn't realised how much prices have dropped. I can now afford it but am perplexed. Is it REALLY possible to make £40k profit over 25 yrs with a 2.8 kw setup or is this all govt bull**** I've just been looking at online calculators, but somehow don't believe them...

    An interesting read

I've been following this fascinating thread and to follow 'rebuke's' suggestion could (I've no idea) a badly installed solar system, poss with backup batteries and inverter cause this 'feedback' ? I was thinking along the lines of a DIY trying to get the FIT
