    downloading music

Just an aside going back to the original query, Woolworths have a massive download catalogue for 59p a track. I use it and its very good. the only downside is that all tracks are wma with drm which is an absolute pain if like me you have an ipod. it means I have to burn tracks to cd and then rip...

Hi all. can anyone tell me of a way I can convert legally downloaded wma files with digital rights management to mp3 so I can put them on my ipod? I'm fed up with burining them onto cd's and then ripping that cd to mp3. the site I download from only provides wma files. I cant use itunes to...

    wembleylike garden?

Thanks guys. I will rake rake and rake again to get it fine. I was going to fill in my low points with topsoil (5 bags for a tenner at wickes) and then sow my seed. I was going to keep on top of the brambles by waiting till they poke through and grow leaves and then zap them with a spot...

    Sim cards

I was under the impression that O2 didnt lock their phones. and even if they did, it should work with another o2 sim card. the only other thing i can suggest is take it to a shop (not a franchised retailer) and see if they can unlock it for you.

    Sim cards

Was the siemens provided by orange/virgin or t-mobile? If so, the phone may be locked to the original network. generally only O2 and Vodaphone do not lock their phones to a single network. You can overcome this in most cases. try on the net for phone unlocking codes. However, I have a feeling...

how to keep my heating heating

Hi folks, just after a bit of advice really. I had a complete new system installed last nov. Its a closed system with a biasi 32kw midi combi boiler, 7 radson rads with optima trv,s (except bathroom and hallway which is the one nearest the thermostat - honeywell by the way) I live in...

    How many halogen downlighters

6 should be fine. 300W is enough. however, 9 wouldnt be too much in my opinion. If dimmer being used, remember that whatever wattage the dimmer is rated at you have to halve that value for 240V halogens. eg for a 400w rated dimmer, you can only use 200W worth of halogens.

VW POLO - noisey when cold

sounds like the non return valves in the hydaulic tappits to me. shouldnt be a problem if it subsides within a few seconds. its just waiting for the oil pump to work up the pressure in the tappets. I had an escort that did the same thing for years.

    neglected garden

Hi guys, Ive moved into a house and the gardens not been touched for about 5 years and did up until this week resemble the Amazon rain forests. The majority of the vegetation seems to be blackberry bushes and other spiky nasty stuff which seems to have spawned from its original locations...

Leaking shower, which professional can I get in to help?

I'd say tackle the cause and the rest should be less of a problem. If the shower is leaking heavily then theres not many bath to wall seals that would withstand that over a period of time. Is it the pipework that is leaking or the shower internally? If its the pipework then get a plumber...

    tongue and bloody groove

    Record for most underrated cable?

seen a 9kw shower run in flex, dangling in the steel bath and poked thru a hole in the wall. When I looked round the other side, It was plugged into a plug top in the kitchen. Which wasnt even in the ring. it was a spur.

    Pushfit and showers

Just my opinion from when I fitted mine a couple of months back (I'm in no way an expert!) I used compressions as mine are in a stud wall and are consealed until they exit the wall and enter the mixer. That way, once they are done and they dont leak under pressure, you can be reasonable...

    Telephone extension point woes

just for info, 2 and 5 should be the blue/whites (not polarity consious) and the bell wire on terminal 3 is orange/white. The colour code for which wires are used in which sequence are blue/orange/green/brown/slate. so your main socket should use the two blues and one orange for incoming and...
