    Don't fit an Ideal boiler. And don't touch ANYTHING gas. Leave it to him. You can fit core drill the hole for the flue and let the RGI connect it. He shouldn't charge much to do it. I would also check you can get a guy to come in and commission it for you, a lot of guys understandably...

    The Gas side of it isn't the only bit you legally need an RGI for, flue too. Other than that, feel free to do the rest of it yourself, no reason why not if you have the confidence. It might take you 3 times longer than any of us but you'll save the cash, which seems to be your sole aim...

    Just to clarify, you don't need to changed the whole radiator to add a TRV.

    Turn one side of all of your radiators off, see if it gets warm. If it does, it's a balancing issue. Try it and get back to us. Worth a try before spending money. May well be the valve though.

    Make sure when you're emptying the radiators to open the bleed at the top left/right to allow air in, makes it much easier. :lol: Once it's empty, close the bleed, flip the rad upside down to stop dirty water dribbels on your floor.

    £180 is a lot of money for an 80 PCB You'll wanna hope it hasn't blown something on it now! You wont get your money back. Could be anything really, Fan, Pump. What's happening when you run a tap... does the Fan start? Can you hear clicking as if it's trying to ignite?

    If the same has happened again, It's likely a faulty component is causing the PCB to blow, the same faulty component is now giving you problems.

    Buy some decorator caps from plumbers merchants. Unscrew top part of TRV Fit cap. Isolate radiator at other end Drain radiator. (make sure bleed is open during this. Remove radiator Check pressure. If low (shouldn't be) repressurize boiler and keep an eye on...
