Dan, So what we have been told about following MI's to the letter through ACS training is bollix then? I did my part L about 6 years ago and cant remember anything mentioned about bypasses? :oops:

Apart from the obvious faults already mentioned that boiler does not need an external bypass. As for the pump running all the time, my guess is that there is a wiring fault and the LR terminal on the boiler is getting a constant power feed and it will not re-fire until its shed its heat hence...

As its only going to be a temporary set up the UFH will work if its supplied by the radiator feeds. I wouldn't bother wiring in the control centre either at this point, just provide power to the manifold pump to allow the loops to circulate. The UFH will only warm up when the central heating...

As long as it was not used as the bypass.

Not so sure about that? its been years but I believe the ventilation required was based on room or heated space volume and heat input of the heater??

how can you say that a 80,000 btu boiler is under powered? the property size or heating demand, has not been stated yet. nout wrong with WB IMO.

thats a ideal standard dualux cartridge,plumb centre sell em. as do many other merchants :roll: they are handed so the hot and cold cartridges are different.

:roll: it's probably a sealed system,can you see a small pressure guage next to the boiler or in the airing cupboard? if you can see a guage what pressure is it indicating?

the fast flashing can only normally reset if you turn the mains power to the boiler off, and then back on again. have you tried doing this?

ive seen several of these, it fills, and takes up expansion of the central heating. just think of it as the internals of a primatic cylinder but fitted outside the cylinder. if you need to drain the heating just turn off the gatevalve to the cylinder cold feed. also think twice about...

is it just one boiler in particular that you need to test? i know with the greenstar's, they spec an upper and low limit measurement in hertz in one of thier service guides. or another way to test the fan force ( maybe? ) would be to use a anemometer on the flue outlet duct.

do you want a hard wired or wireless stat? look at the acl drayton digistat and the rf model.

look at page 10,figure 8,of the mi's remove the link fitted to terminals 2&3 of the boiler and use a programmable room stat connected to these terminals.

if the pump makes a noise and doesn't pump the water it maybe just stuck. have a look and see if the motor is rotating.

disconnect the hose at the tap end and then try the lever,my moneys on that the internal plastic tube of the hose has twisted and stopping water flow to the showerhead.
