    Question Time Leaders Special

What about a minority govt with ad hoc deals rather than a formal alliance?

Which method of execution would you choose?

:D :D Although your quote proves my point , as the hanged person (the hangee??) still did the deed despite knowing that s/he could be hanged for it. In the example you've given, hanging is probably more a preventative measure than a deterrent !!! :D

Which method of execution would you choose?

It's a deterrent when you are caught! Bit late then though? If people about to do a crime think of consequences at all, I think they are deterred by their perceived risk of being caught, not just the severity of the sentence. Otherwise we would have close to zero murders in places with...

Which method of execution would you choose?

I've gone for anaesthetic but what about a gently increasing OD of morphine?

They were all in the same boat

Farage continually avoids questions on the detail of what he would use from the Australian system, despite lauding it. This issue is all about the detail, not the extremes, if a workable solution is to be found.

English votes on English issues? .

Nicely put. Also, the fear that the side losing the limited strikes exchange would go for broke rather than defeat and we ended up with MAD (Mutually Assured Destruction) We also need to remember the various 'Wars by proxy' that we have had, where the Cold War went hot in other territories...

English votes on English issues? .

Just to clarify, do you mean 'nationalists ' or 'Nationalists' ? ( ie all protagonists, or just the Republicans)

    Drug smugglers executed

Brain scan technology is able to tell us ,for various execution methods, but I'm not sure ethics allows the research!

They were all in the same boat

And you think that a 'blow them out of the water' policy will be initiated without a 'committee' ? I'm talking about the real world politics , not the bar room . Dear me......

They were all in the same boat

A key part of Australia's strategy to reduce illegal immigration by boat is publicising their policy in the countries of origin (of such immigrants) As I said before, there's a bit more to dealing with this than the extremes of 'let everyone in' and ' blow them out of the water'.

English votes on English issues? .

Renders- the Uk wasn't attacked by ' the Middle East' or Afghanistan, so protection wasn't an issue there. However I think your point on whether it is the best way of spending money in a different world is a good one. For me, we grew up with the constant idea that we could see the...

They were all in the same boat

I think this is the point - sensible suggestions are not being aired and given due consideration. Unfortunately too many people can only see the extreme approaches of any problem. The only alternatives are polar opposites. So for them it''s either stop immigration totally, or have totally...

Who do I believe in Labour in Scotland?

A pity this passion for arguing about politic isn't replicated across the country and translated into votes. It will be interesting to see the Post Referendum turnout in Scotland.

They might also suffer from being perceived as a one issue party. You wont really look at their other policies if you are not interested in the Green bit

Who do I believe in Labour in Scotland?

But my hobby horses are like Russian dolls! No, we'll not agree on this one I'm afraid . I think it's important to know the name of the country you live in. On a related note, one policy I do like is giving territories like Gibraltar an MP even though they are not in the UK. If George...
