What about sikkens rubbol satura ?
Would that be an oil based option - would I have to sand back completely or just key - try to avoid a complete sand back to bare wood.
My Timber windows and external doors are showing signs of wear especially at the back of my house where they are south facing.
They are installed about 20 years without maintenance so far from what i can tell. They appear to have a factory varnish finish - wood is vsible so they arent currently...
This relates to a discoloration of zinc although not part of a roof but as it's the same material as the zinc on roofs I reckon this is the place for my query.
I have zinc cladding on my windowsills but two of them have discoloured badly. There are pinkish lines and an overall variable tone to...

Also - is varnish better than oil ? Would prefer to use oil if it would be ok.

Indeed I have!
I have to do more testing.
I am now wondering if the tray/window flashing is two courses above the window is it possible water can get in at the side beneath the tray?
I sprayed the yellow patch on the plastic and the water obviously dropped down.
The two red lines indicate the...
I would have thought it's far more work to take down the wall brick by brick and replace brick by brick.
These bricks are not sold anymore so they have to be reused if taken out.
But regardless of acrow or not, the question remains as to whether I can address the issue from inside with a tray...
