    Grip wrench set

Yeah, you can see a picture of one of the bolts here. https://goo.gl/photos/dekkRTXUtaDPWaQDA But to be honest the set I have, have been annoying me for years.

    Grip wrench set

Not that rusty, but when I put pressure on them they go out of shape and they don't really seem to bite.

That said the ones I have are roughly 15 years old, and where three for 10—15 quid in B+Q.

Yeah, that's them... I can't get em closed tightly without giving myself an injury. Is there something similar, I can racket closed?

    Grip wrench set

I have an old set of vice wrenches, getting them to the pressure they lock tightly is getting tougher. It's there such a thing as vice pliers that is easier to lock? Ray K

    Buying a stove by accident

TaDa! One week of penetrating oil and two hours of careful cutting a bolt with a dremel later (gotta be a faster way), and the flu is off. You can see the full length of the mark/crack here. https://goo.gl/photos/FbN5MuVTQXxJhQYH9 The back of the flu...

    Buying a stove by accident

Thanks that's good to know, - I will check out the explored diagram. BTW has spraying WD40 on rusty pins, screws and bolts ever worked for anyone, or is just aspirational?

    Buying a stove by accident

Back of the #3, no crack I think just a rust stain from the flu. https://goo.gl/photos/pQLYpLDDMXcLVRkw6 The side plates and the grill. https://goo.gl/photos/9oqfLkSTRdsJy5Md6 The bottom plate. https://goo.gl/photos/gHPdHdtM2vcB4fC9A The back plate. https://goo.gl/photos/STTuTmKoU1gU5R2r7 Ray K

    Buying a stove by accident

The presence of these runners on either side underneath the stove made me think the ash pane was missing. If there is no ash pane, how do you clean out the ash? Think I am going dismantle it and refresh the cement anyway. I have two years before the renovation to get this thing ready. Would...

    Buying a stove by accident

Makes perfect sense. The Stanley N.O. 8 I restored has this, I had to replace it as the ar*e was burnt out of it from the previous owner letting ash build up in the ash pan. I use a similar mix including the ovoids - with turf usually, but not always - as I live near a number of bogs. I used...

Apologies - I don't quiet follow that why does bar = multifuel. I live in the woods , so wood only is fine - but it would be good to understand.

    Buying a stove by accident

Think that is an 85 at the end - didn't twig that as the manufacture date, but it would make sense. I have no idea as to the heritage of this thing. That would be consistent with this diagram from Jotul US. Which say its 1983-88 - I dismissed it initially, but the diagram looks right. There is...

Some photos as promised! No obvious code etc to identify it. Nothing that looks like any of the advice anyway.

    Buying a stove by accident

No sign of fire brick, have already identified a missing ash pan. It hasn't rusted through anywhere, the main sections don't appear to be too bad but there is still a fine glow of rust there. There are a few springs, hinges and screws that look pretty bad all the same - the will need a much...
