How to stop junk mail from going into Spam Folder

Not really much you can do as far as I know - that is why you have a Junk/Spam folder. You could try setting a rule on that folder to automatically delete emails, however there is a risk that some emails which enter that folder may be genuine mails that you wouldn't want deleted.

Worth checking it out thoroughly before you bin it. Lots of videos on YouTube about stripping them down and overhauling.

Nightmare installing a cooker chimney hood

Not quite sure why you are having a problem. The bracket needs to be fixed firmly to the wall at the top and the main fan unit also fixed to the wall. Then connect the duct from the fan to the outlet. Assemble the chimney and stand it on the fan unit so the top piece can be slid up and fixed to...

Replacing CH pipes due to noise on start up

Have you tried running the heating with the floorboards removed? It may not be practical for you but if you can it might help to trace/eliminate the problem areas. I would avoid reducing the pipe size if possible as it could lead to performance problems, depending on how your system is piped.

    Divorce

From my daughter's recent experience of divorce I think your friend may be ok as the marriage was quite short and no children. The only thing (I think) the wife can claim for is spousal maintenance, but the short duration of the marriage will be taken into account and any claim is likely to be...

External Ducting from Cooker Hood Through Supporting Wall

Take a look at the outside of any number of houses - you will see all manner of large holes for flues, vents, soil pipes etc etc. Hence no need for a lintel.

    Help with lead valley please.

Sounds reasonable. I think the problem with felt is that it can sweat so adding to the problem of damage to the timber. The main thing is to make sure you have good overlap between the various under layers of felt/ membrane etc and overlap onto the lead so there is no risk of water blowing...

Building a dam across a small stream to create a pool?

Perhaps some flexible butyl pond liner to fashion a more direct flow into the pond?

Building a dam across a small stream to create a pool?

Just a thought, but rather than having to construct using blocks/stone etc could you not just create a pond using something like this http://www.primrose.co.uk/-p-42901.html?adtype=pla&kwd=&gclid=CIDnnJuM0sECFfMZtAodukgAxQ Adding pipework and overflow would be relatively easy and quicker to...

    Help with lead valley please.

As an amateur, my thoughts: 1) the porch roof looks to have felt under the tiles. The lower edge of this felt needs to be lifted to that it can drain into the valley (when it is repaired); 2) the original lead does not look wide enough to have sufficient lap under the tiles and thus will have...

    Cooker Hood Installation

I don't know about that particular hood but most are quite lightweight and so fixing to the cupboard sides would normally be sufficient. Those that don't go full depth will normally have some kind of sliding/adjustable plate to fill the gap on the underside of the hood to fill the gap back to...

    patio join to concrete path

If the angle in your diagram isn't exaggerated then I would cut the flags with an angle grinder to meet the path. If the angle is less than in the diagram you might get away with some neat pointing without cutting but depends on the gap and how it looks. I wouldn't even consider cutting into...

    Dishwasher leaking from inlet

Have you checked in the connector that the rubber washer is correctly seated and not pinched up at all? You shouldn't need any tape or compound to make the joint. Usually only requires tightening a little more than finger-tight to make a seal.

    Laminate Flooring - novice question

I think the decision rests on how best to finish the edge along the hearth and the adjacent walls. If the hearth is reasonably straight and true then it might be easier to run full boards against that and scribe into the walls, especially as you will presumably be covering the board edges at the...

What to expect in terms of quality work.

When I used to run teams of kitchen fitters it was quite common for the cutouts to be done in situ. One reason being the risk of the worktop breaking at the cutout if it was done off-unit and then manoeuvred back into place, due to the considerable reduction in strength as a result of the...
