    Room-stat v. TRVs

I understand your comments about a room stat being a compromise but if the entire system is well balanced then it is easy to set, say the living room, at a comfortable temperature whilst the stat controls the overall ambient temp. That has certainly worked for me over the years and I have never...

Installing sliding doors with no ceiling to attach to

Most sliding wardrobe doors I've seen run on floor runners so nothing to hang as such. As suggested already just a reasonably substantial frame to stop the top flexing and a top cover to stop dust settling.

    Problem screwing on doors

Yes I think you could be right. So either: a) crap bit or b) crap screws There is a 3rd option and the clue is in the OP's handle

    central heating problems

The size of the feed doesn't really matter but you can increase to 22mm if you want. No point in using 28mm anywhere. It won't make any difference to the performance of the pump. The level of the water in the header tank only needs to be a couple of inches above the outlet, no more.

    Problem screwing on doors

Ok confused now. First you say the screw keeps turning, so the assumption is you've overdriven it, but now you say it doesn't go in at all. So which is it?

Nest Heat Link wiring - pump always on

Surely all you need to do is wire the pump from the boiler rather than where you have it at present? The connection from the boiler is probably required to operate as an overrun to dissipate heat when there is no actual call for it (but would require some kind of bypass circuit for water...

Toilet waste pipe 90 degree connection at outer wall

I can't see what the problem is. Connect the access bend to a piece of pipe and push it into the hole in the wall so that the joint is buried in the wall. That way it should line up with the connection to the stack surely?

    central heating problems

Personally I would just replace the pipes like-for-like, if access is reasonable. My assumption being that it worked ok before it became blocked so why mess too much? I don't think you can use plastic due to the proximity to the boiler but the pros can give you a view on that. Certainly that...

    Problem screwing on doors

If you have packed the old holes and are starting again then I would say you are over-torqueing the new screws. Most cordless have a torque setting. Try at the lowest and work up until you can just tighten the screw in the hole. The clutch mechanism should then prevent over-tightening.

    WiFi Signal Dropping

I would agree about changing the frequency (channel) to another less utilised to see if that has any effect. I have had Virgin cable broadband for many years (when it was Telewest) and now have one of the Superhubs. However I still use my own router as I prefer the security setup so can't advise...

Help needed re-wiring a BT junction box

YES. Those colours are the old 4 wire internal and I can assure you that blue/orange ARE the pair.

    Room-stat v. TRVs

You say that you think the TRV's can happily control the heat but what happens when the temp drops cold? A standard TRV cannot signal any heat demand to the boiler unless the boiler is set to run 24/7 and is continually pumping. This is very inefficient and a room stat overcomes this by turning...

Noisy pipes when shower runs... help please

What route do the pipes take and are they secured/clipped anywhere? It may be they need some more support/clips to dampen any vibration.

I have no idea but am intrigued why you need a light inside a dishwasher anyway?

Help needed re-wiring a BT junction box

Ok the most likely combination is: incoming external - orange/white internal - blue/orange Connect incoming orange to internal orange, incoming white to blue. Internal cable blue to 2 of line jack, orange to 5. If no dial tone try the green/black incoming, polarity is not critical.

    Which magnetite cleaner for system?

Immaterial now as the OP has made his choice but not sure I follow your reasoning regarding isolators with the Spirotech. The whole principle of the Spirotech is to allow the pressure of the water to flush out the debris in the filter through the base outlet. Isolators would play no useful part...

    Socket doesn't work...

Unlikely to be an old storage heater point if 2 cables I would have thought. Based on your findings so far, my assumption is that neither cable is connected at the far end. If only one cable was faulty (and making the assumption this should be a ring) then you would still have a live socket...

Can you post some pictures of the pipework, boiler and controls? That might help in explaining where to focus first.
