Boiler/Hot Water Tank On when it shouldn't be?

Moved the automatic switch to manual then let it move back to automatic. Wife had CH/HW on this morning, all off now and no sound from the airing cupboard. Fingers crossed 😳

Boiler/Hot Water Tank On when it shouldn't be?

Hmmm...One is Honeywell and the other is, well, an unreadable kind of signature. Looks like Danfoss though. Does it need replacing or fixing do you reackon? Or just moving the switch back and forwards will help? Thank you.

Boiler/Hot Water Tank On when it shouldn't be?

Are these the two boxes in the airing cupboard with the tank? Both have auto and manual positionings? Currently both are set at manual.

Boiler/Hot Water Tank On when it shouldn't be?

Well, it seems that things don't go wrong in three's. Five looks like being the new number. Anyway, this has happened before and can't remember what to happened in the end. So, our central heating/HW is a single control for time, and double switch for HW/CH. I noticed last night tha the...

    Letterbox

Morning. I'm all for fixing rather than replacing, but struggling with this one. Our door has a letter box (not sure if there are different types, but there are seperate parts for the inside and outside). On the inside, there are two pins that attach the flap to the door fitting and allow...

    Panasonic Microwave

Agree. Relatively cheap to replace nowadays...unless you have a wife who wants colour coordination 😜

Quick Thoughts - Hot Water / Pressure Level?

So the wife says why not check the garage. Yep, by 1ft square wet patch on ceiling, wet along the joist as down the wall about 2ft. Great. Another pipe that has come undone 😒 As it's in the garage, would it be best to go from underneath (skimmed plaster board) or from above (most...

Quick Thoughts - Hot Water / Pressure Level?

Thanks. Will refill tonight to 1 and leave it. See where it is in the morning and then put the CH/HW on and check. Will let you know what happens in the monring.

Quick Thoughts - Hot Water / Pressure Level?

Thanks again. Really appreciate that. How long after turning everything off could I refill? Just thinking if there was a leak, would it go down without the heating/HW on? Leaks are slightly historical in this house. Three in nine years. But cannot see anything and no leaking in the airing...

Quick Thoughts - Hot Water / Pressure Level?

I presume as well that we are watching to see if the black line goes above three, not the red line. I did check this yesterday (I think) and after five minutes it was still in the same place. Do I also presume that I should only turn the heating on, and not the hot water?

Quick Thoughts - Hot Water / Pressure Level?

Thanks for the reply. If its happened a few times (and we have had a couple of leaks), and does so in the space of 24 hours, you would expect to see the leak if internal? Or is there another route for the water to go? Will need to check tomorrow as only just turned the heating/water off.

Quick Thoughts - Hot Water / Pressure Level?

Hi. Just looking for some quick thoughts on an issue with our boiler. Nine years old and no real issues (not to do with the boiler itself). Our boiler (combi) in on the ground floor, and on our second floor is an unvented water heater (large tank). Above this tank is a small red tank...

    LG Dishwasher - Sandy Residue

Hi Footprints. Tried that already a few times, but still leaving residue. Hi John. The dishwasher feeds in to tubing that then feeds in o the sink tubing about 2-2.5 feet underneath the sink (then away out of the kitchen). For the feed to go in to the dishwasher from the sink, it...

    LG Dishwasher - Sandy Residue

Well, filters all checked, clean and no damage. Arms checked. Clean and no damage. No visible entry of residue coming in to the machine either. We did notice that there is water at the bottom of the dishwasher (underneath the filters, so not in the main chamber of the dishwasher). Is this...

    LG Dishwasher - Sandy Residue

Thanks Footprints. Its always happening every wash, but nothing is tipped up. We have used lots of different brands of tablets and gels, but nothing makes a difference. Will try another filter clean, possible drain and if its still doing it, buy a new one.

    Panasonic Microwave

Thanks EddieM. Going to give it another clean, but failing that, either repair (by a professional) or throw it. Does anyone have an idea (roughly) of a cost to repair if it is the motor bearing?

    LG Dishwasher - Sandy Residue

Thanks Folks. Burnerman: Salt is always topped up, but thank you. JohnD: I know my wife cleaned some things and with the filter cleaners used, it still seems to give the residue. I also took off the arm feeding the top tray, cleaned, but still residue came out (you can see it a little on...
