    Triton Spellbind shower tripping RCD

Softus: That tape measure photo is at the CU. I don't have a photo of the red switch (I'm working today), but it's a lot like this one. Yeah, I realised that last night. *sigh* I hope these are better ideas than removing the tiles and then putting a new cable in... The floor...

    Triton Spellbind shower tripping RCD

The bathroom is only a few years old, with tiled walls and floor, so there's no way that I can re-wire it. I think the only possibility is to replace the shower with a less powerful model... You can imagine just how much I want to strangle the previous owners right now. How could they...

    Triton Spellbind shower tripping RCD

Thanks for all your responses. I'll try to answer as much as possible... Shower with the cover off here. Looks like it's a 9.5kW model by the label. Hopefully this will help you identify the cable. I don't know exactly what a DP isolator is... To me it looks like there's just the...

    Triton Spellbind shower tripping RCD

Oh, and it's the fuse marked "B50" with "shower" written below that trips.

    Triton Spellbind shower tripping RCD

Sorry, RCD was probably the wrong word... It's the fuse switch for the shower on the consumer unit. Shot of the cable here. I haven't had a chance to take the cover off of the shower yet.

    Triton Spellbind shower tripping RCD

Hi, I moved into this house about a year ago. Shortly afterwards, when I had a lot of people to stay and so the shower was used a lot in a short time, the shower tripped the RCD. Since then, the time before it tripping has slowly decreased to being within a long shower (~10 mins), and is...

Unable to screw toilet flush button back on

Hi, I have one of the newer-style button flush toilets, the plastic flush mechanism is made by SIAMP. Looking at the manufacturer site, it looks like a Skipper 36A (Mechanisms >> Dual Flush >> Skipper 36A). Anyway, a while back I realised that the cistern lid felt a bit loose and...

Thanks. I'll give that a try tonight.

Upgraded thermostat - now no heating/hw

I don't have a meter. The cable from the thermostat goes through the wall and up into the ceiling, then I assume it goes directly along and down to the boiler which is at the other end of the kitchen. It's below a tiled bathroom floor, so I can't get easy access to it. What could I have...

Upgraded thermostat - now no heating/hw

Thanks for the reply! There's a timeswitch on the boiler itself, which is set to non-timer mode. It's a Biasi (24S?) combi boiler by the way. The wiring diagram on the Sunvic instructed me to connect "live" to the "COM" terminal, and to connect the "heater/cooler" in series with "NO"...

Upgraded thermostat - now no heating/hw

Hi, Hopefully someone can help... I just upgraded my old Rotary-style thermostat to a digital programmable one (Sunvic TLX6501 model from B&Q). Since connecting it up I have no heating or hot water. The pilot light is out, and I have already tried replacing the fuse in the...
