    MICC Wiring

Oh dear..This is a private block of flats that was built using a council flat format I can only assume back in the sixties. (My daughter has an ex council flat in Putney and her wiring is the same but the previous owner had new style sockets put on the front which I'm told is not earthed which...

    MICC Wiring

Steve3498......Thanks very much for your reply infact I'm very encouraged at how helpful you all are...... Anyway re these in-line joints....is it possible to cut out a section and then make 2 joints to replace the damaged section? This would be far the easiest option as everything is...

    MICC Wiring

Breezer..........we've traced the cables that work thro' the kitchen wall under the bath to what appears to be a seperate circiuit which is also an MICC socket termination in the airing cupboard. The cooker socket is also MICC buried in the wall so our kitchen fitter will have to wire that up...

    MICC Wiring

Breezer....Are you saying that some of the wiring might not be MICC? The sockets that are working make the lights flicker when the kettle is switched on. I think they may come off the cooker point. Also is the lighting likely to be MICC and why has only half of it failed?

    MICC Wiring

Help! My dearest husband has damaged a MICC(cable)buried in the kitchen wall and he's still alive! We have kitchen fitters arriving next week and most of the sockets are dead plus half the lighting in the flat. Does anyone out there know if we can repair just a short section that is damged...

    Roof light domes.

We will be having a triple glazed Ubbink roof dome fitted on a new flat lead roof. Originally it was going to be a Coxdome but the roof carpenters "measured wrongly" and it was only discovered after the lead was done. Coxdome do have a kerb adjuster but I didn't want to have another "join" to...

    Roof insulation

Thanks to both replies. The pitched roof part is concrete tiles on timber rafters and on the flat section it is lead covered on timber joists. Inside it is the normal flat(not pitched) ceiling so has a inaccessible loft. Hope that's what you need. My builder says the standard thickness of...

    Roof insulation

Roof insulation in new extension........ We are currently having a single storey extension built and I'm concerned that they haven't put in enough roof insulation even though the building control have "inspected". It is a partially pitched, partially flat leaded roof. What would be the current...
