What is the slotted head on remote filling loop for?

Thanks very much (again) So I don’t need to do anything with that head then just leave it alone as it came from factory?

What is the slotted head on remote filling loop for?

On the side without the gauge, what is the slotted head for? It looks like a slightly larger version of the slotted head on those naughty iso valves, but I assume it isn’t to open and close this valve given there is a black handle right next to it? Thanks for any help

Oooh rad valves on the ends, that’s a good idea - thanks!

Best way to install new flow and return but add rads at staggered times?

Ha funny, but wouldn’t adding f+r as I go still result in needing to cap off a branch of a tee? Although come to think of it I’d only need to cap one off each instead of five off each so it’s a really good idea! Cheers mate

Best way to install new flow and return but add rads at staggered times?

Oooh that’s a good idea, so as I fill the system I can slacken them off till they weep, so I know the air has shifted? Is this the go to system for new installs then?

Best way to install new flow and return but add rads at staggered times?

Hi I’m installing a new combi boiler with new flow and return as part of an extension, and this will feed the existing flow and return in the existing house, and then go on to feed new radiators in the extension. I’m doing it all in copper with regular end feed fittings. My question is, what...

Where do I need NRVs or check valves in a combi setup?

Sorry mate sometimes I write a little “off”. So going back to your advice, if I have a water meter, and I use a shock arrestor, then I’m all good? Cheers

Where do I need NRVs or check valves in a combi setup?

Cheers mate, I understand all of that, thanks, except for the word ‘no’. What is that bit in response to? Me saying I’m including a shock arrestor is that good enough? As in, no it’s not good enough? Cheers

Where do I need NRVs or check valves in a combi setup?

Yes done this, it’s a Tesla remote one with gauge, and double check valve.. thanks for checking Is the first one you mention because the “pull” of the cold demand from elsewhere tricks the boiler switch to think there’s a demand for hot as the diaphragm in the switch moves? Just testing my...

Where do I need NRVs or check valves in a combi setup?

Hi In terms of both regs and from a plumbers’ perspective, is there anywhere I should add a non return valve or check / double check valve in a combi setup? I’ve looked into it a bit, and I see the technical difference between a NRV and single / double check valve but I’m still not sure where...

Any merit to running new dedicated 22mm water supply to combi?

Interesting, I see why the 15mm will result in hotter water, but as this combi will be feeding the shower and I want a big head on it, I thought there might be merit to it as if I run the 15mm at 15l/m then this flow will further reduce where the cold side of the mixer on the shower opens as...

Any merit to running new dedicated 22mm water supply to combi?

Cheers for input, it’s not difficult, it’s just going to cost me an extra 200 quid to do it. I was kinda looking for confirmation that it’s worth it, I’m interested to hear why it isn’t though if that’s the case provided there’s some sense to it and it’s not just other people thinking I didn’t...

Any merit to running new dedicated 22mm water supply to combi?

Thanks JCK, this was sort of the reply I expected, I don’t see how feeding a 18l/m combi with a 15mm pipe that has all other taps and appliances branched off of it is as good as a dedicated supply from stopcock like others have suggested when there is another 3 l/m available there, and when the...

Any merit to running new dedicated 22mm water supply to combi?

Hmmm, well I’ve tested the supply where I would join my 22mm pipe (right after stopcock) and it does just over 18l/m I’ve then tested from the convenient 15mm pipe and it does 15l/m My intergas rapid 32 does 18l/m for 25deg rise, doesn’t that mean I should go with the 22mm option?

Any merit to running new dedicated 22mm water supply to combi?

…from stopcock, rather than using a more convenient 15mm close by that already serves various taps and appliances. The 15mm has a flow rate of 15l per minute without other taps and appliances running. Boiler is a 32kw intergas rapid. Thanks!

Best Layout for Combi with Bells n’ Whistles

Yes mate, looking forward to it. No diagrams then for us noobs to see where all the accessories go then in the circuit? I’m disappointed, there must be something out there

Best Layout for Combi with Bells n’ Whistles

I’ve already bought the outside sensor, as it was only £35, and I thought it’d be better than the regional weather that opentherm uses. I picked the rapid because it was about £800 and the flow rate etc seemed good. I could be wrong but I think the other intergas were much more expensive...
