Hello! Could any of you helpful people point me in the direction of a layout plan/diagram or similar for a combi boiler with the bells and whistles? I’m not trade and really looking forward to putting together a lovely setup (visually as well as correctly arranged in the eyes of a plumber)...

I agree; this membrane is to get normal tiles working at 12.5 deg.. not shallow pitched tiles working below 12.5deg.. my experience tho is it’ll probably pass with the fancy membrane and *close to* 12.5deg…

In that case, any idea why the Rapid is listed as about 13LPM at 35deg, and the Xtreme is marketed as “XXL” hot water profile “supports 2-3 bathrooms” yet the flow is only “slightly” better at 14.5deg?

Yes…but the flow from the combi is more than adequate for a shower.. no? Bare in mind nothing else would be connected. I think I’ll just go for the rapid, save the money and hassle with anything complicated and hope it’s fine for a shower and some simultaneous tap usage..

Thanks for taking the time to advise all of that.. .. but I’m a little confused. I want to feed the bath and shower with the DHW side of the combi. I don’t get why, if I’m using a combi boiler, I wouldn’t take advantage of the heat on demand function for the shower, have a small cylinder...

im a bit confused Muggles, are you saying you’ve done the setup in my OP and it doesn’t matter that the mains going into the cylinder drops the pressure on the boiler like others have said, and also what do you mean you don’t connect the hot, what’s feeding the shower? If it’s the cylinder then...

Is this the setup I was originally talking about? did you do this for the reasons I mentioned…ie to allow shower and taps to be used simultaneously whilst using a combi to provide never ending water?

Interesting, no such thing as a free lunch comes to mind.. ..but wouldn’t my setup be good if I have a higher mains flow (18LPM) than the boiler can deal with, so it’s a way of removing that bottleneck so that I can demand higher hot water flows through the shower and tap at once?
