It wasn't heating up at all when it was leaking ( it was a tiny leak - one drop every few seconds ). When I tightened it up, about 1/10th turn, the leak stopped and it started heating up again. A few days later the tiny leak starts up again, and the radiator won't heat up! :?

Would you advise someone with no knowledge of boilers ( but who is fairly DIY capable ), to do the above ? ie, is it something 'doable' for your VERY average DIY'er, I have no intention of even considering that. :)

Cheers, I'll get it looked at. It seems to fire up fine maybe nine times out of ten, it's just maybe once or twice a day that the *Bang* occurs.

We had a Potterton HE boiler installed a couple of years ago. Everything worked fine, except there would be an occasional *Bang* when it fired up. ( This bang usually happens when it fires up after it has been off for a period of time - several hours ). We spoke to the person who installed it...
