    Garden sprayer - knapsack ?

Hi all, Can anyone recommend a backpack type sprayer - not strictly for garden use. I shall be using it to extinguish any 'spot' fires during firework displays, so would only ever use water. Have fire extinguishers but it costs to recharge them even after using a brief squirt of water...

    Paint Tins

I just clingfilm directly the top of the paints surface before putting the lid back on - no skin, and if the lid is loose / works loose then it does not matter as it does not dry out. :D

    firing in a hydroflow

I think its one of those things you clamp to your water supply pipe which claims to remove limescale and anything else the manufacturer can think of that sounds bad for you.

    SWEAR FILTERS?

You might not be too young - but little Johnny and his sister who look at the forum while dads getting a beer probably are. This is not a forum closed to minors - even if you think none would be interested in a diy forum you might be surprised how many are . . .

Help needed: Need to get rid of pond

Unless you fill it with concrete it will still end up full of water . . . Unless you are breaking up the base or making provision for its water holding properties to be bypassed.

    Pressure washer died . . .

Thanks Breezer, you might have hit the nail on the head. - I did a little more investigating today, there is a tiny switch inside a plastic housing, and part of that housing is inserted into the top of where the 'water' side of things start, but it is free to slide out of where it fits and...

Had a chimney fire today, don't want another!

If you get a chimney fire it is very difficult to seal it off / stop air getting to it as it will pull in huge amounts. Instead - lightly spray water onto the fire - not enough to put it out - you are aiming to send up clouds of steam to knock out the fire, then when you think you have it out...

Can anyone recommend me something to use as a hedge?

I had a lovely Gorse hedge once - keep it trimmed and it looks nice - keeps anything out ( or in ) and you can get some nice double flowered varieties - not just the straggly stuff you see at the roadside.

I would insist on sending it back to him by a recorded delivery and claim the refund under his warranty. - why should you send it to someone on his behalf knowing they will then be in the same position you are in but who may not think of asking any more questions . . . If they dont like it...
