You have to conduct the test to a reasonable practicable level, if for some reason (ie, by opening the DB it will fall apart), then this can get noted in the limitations (ie, Visual inspection only, limited instrument tests carried out due to dangerous condition of distribution board etc)...

Adaptable box & DIN connectors sounds good to me........

Have you by any chance been doing any DIY (ie, hanging pictures, lifting floorboards etc) or any water ingress / damp spots...... You said that you have checked all connections to the light fittings and switches does this include the terminations within your fuseboard.. Does the MCB still...

I think he meant, leave the transformer in place, note the details and replace when new one has arrived, but this then depends on the fault in the 1st place....is it tripping etc...... Any-hoos.......play nice......nobody has any axe's to grind

Jim, The diagram you sent is something similar to what I have in mind apart from the MCCB just after the generator, I'll be using protection / isolation supplied via the generator :? Also using 4x 300mA RCBO than a 300mA RCD....... Other than that I think we where on the same wave...
