The pcb controls the thermostat, gas valve and air pressure switch, common fault is the relays get stuck and the smack kicks the relay into other posistion.

My electronics and fault diagnosis is better than most gas safe registered engineers

Pilot light stays on all the time however burners would only turn on after a smack on pcb board, currently pcb is behaving will look at replacement on order

I would call a gas engineer, however as a maintenance engineer with electronics experience i suspect the pcb has gone again was last replaced by me about 3 years a go Update: Currently boiler is behaving itself however will replace pcb for reliability dont need to be gas safe to do that :)

Yes as JJ4091 quite correctly said ice in the fan can also cause issues so a manual defrost may fix issues

I understand there is thermostat inside tank, the house is heated using electric wall heaters. I will look at placing an owl energy monitor to see what is taking the drain of electric.
